Care

compact
discs

Compact
discs
are
fairly
resistant
to
damage,
however
mis-
tracking
can
occur
due
to
an
accumulation
of
dirt
on
the
disc
surface.
Follow
the
guidelines
below
for
maximum
enjoyment
from
your
CD
collection
and
player.
®
Do
not
write
on
either
side
of
the
disc,
particularly
the
non-label
side.
Signals
are
read
from
the
non-label
side.
Do
not
mark
this
surface.

Keep
your
discs
away
from
direct
sunlight,
heat,
and
excessive
moisture.
@
Always
hold
the
CDs
by
ihe
edges.
Fingerprints,
dirt,
or
water
on
the
CDs
can
cause
noise
or
mistracking.
If
a
CD
is
dirty
or
does
not
play
properly,
clean
it
with
a
soft,
dry
cloth,
wiping
straight
out
from
the
centre,
along
the
radius.

Set
the
POWER
switch
to
ON.

Press
the
CD
button.

Press
the
OPEN/CLOSE
button
to
open
the
disc
tray.

Place
a
disc
on
the
tray,
label
side
up.

Be
sure
to
place
the
8
cm
(3")
disc
in
the
middle
of
the
table.

press
the
PLAY
button
to
close
the
disc
tray
and
begin
playback
from
track
1.

The
"®’
indicator
will
appear
and
playback
will
begin.
@
When
a
disc
is
placed
on
the
disc
tray
and
the
disc
tray
is
closed
by
either
pressing
the
OPEN/CLOSE
button
or
lightly
pushing
on
the
front
of
the
disc
tray,
the
total
num-
ber
of
tracks
and
the
total
playing
time
will
be
displayed
for
several
seconds.
To
interrupt
playback:
Press
the
PAUSE
button.

The
"IN"
indicator
will
light
up.
Press
the
PLAY
button
to
resume
playback
from
the
same
point.
To
stop
playback:
Press
the
STOP
button.
To
switch
the
unit
off
after
use:
Set
the
POWER
switch
to
STAND-BY.
Note:
if
ihe
function
selector
button
is
set
to
TUNER,
the
CD
player
will
not
function.
