2.4.1 Medium Type

As
shown
in
Fig.
2.5,
the
recording
media
for
the
FDD
is
floppy
disk:
composed
of
flexible,
oxide-coated
mylar
sheet
housed in a dedicated jacket. .
Except for the index hole position, both the single-sided and
two-sided floppy disks are of the same shape.
(2) IBM's floppy disks (IBM DISKETTE I, II, IID) are the standard
recording media.
(3) To use the file protection feature requires an inhibit notch, the
specifications of which are shown in Fig. 2.5.
