2. Hold down the MODE/-DISP button for 1 second or more.
The playing time of the selected track will be displayed.

After displaying the playing time in step 2, just select the track
number to display its playing time.
■ Checking the elapsed time and remaining time
Each time the MODE/-DISP button is pressed for 1 second or
more in the playback or pause mode, the display will change as
follows:

Elapsed time of

Remaining playing time
name the current track of the current track

■ Checking the remaining amount of battery
While the unit is being operated with the rechargeable battery or
alkaline battery, its remaining amount will appear on the display.

■ Titling a recorded MiniDisc
Creating a disc name
While in the stop mode, check that “
” is displayed. If “ ” is
displayed, move the
M
button toward .

While in the stop mode, press the M button.
The unit enters the menu select mode.
2.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select “N (NAME)”
and press it.
3.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select “D (DISC)” and
press it.
You can enter characters now.
4.
Move the
M
button toward 06 to select the type of characters.
Katakana → Alphabetic characters (capital letters)
↑↓
Numbers and symbols ← Alphabetic characters (small letters)
5.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select the character
you want to enter.
6.
When the character appears, press the
M
button
7. Enter the rest of the characters to complete the disc name.
Repeat steps 4 - 6 to enter other characters.
8.
After entering all characters, hold down the
M
button for 1 second
or more.
The disc name has been created.
Creating a group name
Set the unit to the group mode.
1.
When in the stop mode, press the
M
button.
The unit enters the menu select mode.
2.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select “N (NAME)”
and press it.
3.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select “G (GROUP)”
and press it.
4.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select the group you
want to name and then press it.
You can enter characters now.
5. Enter the characters.
The group name has been created.
Creating a track name
1.
While the track to be named is paused, press the
M
button.
The unit enters the menu select mode.
2.
Move the
M
button toward 5 or 4 to select “N (NAME)”
and press it.
3.
Press the
M
button again.
You can enter characters now.
4. Enter the characters.
The track name has been created.

Select the menu within 25 seconds.
●
If you press the CLEAR button during this operation, the previ-
ous display appears.
(If you press this button while entering characters, the screen
you see before entering characters is displayed.)

To cancel the operation, move the
M
button toward .
(If you are entering characters, press the CLEAR button and
move the
M
button toward to cancel it.)
