Technical Specifications:

  • Models: K11-SQ14, K12-SQ14, K14-SQ14
  • Insulation: Double insulated (no grounding required)
  • Extension Cords: Use only a cord extension set compliant with AS3199. Conductor size must be 1.0mm² for lengths up to 25 meters and 1.5mm² for lengths from 25-32 meters.

Usage Features:

  • Unpacking and Set-up:
    1. Remove the tank cover and any accessories.
    2. Install appropriate filters for dry or wet pick-up (refer to specific sections).
    3. Replace the tank cover.
    4. Slip the cleaner end of the flexible hose into the intake port.
    5. Attach extension wands to the accessory end of the hose, twisting slightly to tighten.
    6. Attach a cleaning accessory to the extension wand, twisting slightly to tighten.
    7. Plug the cord into the wall outlet. The cleaner is ready for use.
    8. Power switch: I = ON, O = OFF.
  • Dry Pick Up Operation:
    • Requires a foam sleeve and a reusable dry filter or disposable filter bag for proper filtration.
    • Foam Sleeve and Dry Filter Disc (Not standard on all models):
      1. Disconnect the plug from the wall outlet.
      2. With the tank cover upside down, slide the foam sleeve over the lid cage until it completely covers the cage (Figure 1, 2).
      3. Center the reusable dry filter on the lid cage (Figure 3).
      4. Slide the mounting ring down over the filter until it's positioned against the ribs of the lid cage (Figure 4). The reusable dry filter must always be over the foam sleeve for dry pick-up.
      5. To remove for cleaning, remove the mounting ring and filter from the lid cage (Figure 5).
      6. Ensure the mounting ring is completely secure and the reusable dry disc filter completely covers the foam sleeve.
    • Cartridge Filter (Not standard on all models):
      1. Slide the cartridge filter down over the lid cage.
      2. Place the filter retainer on top of the cartridge filter. Hold the base of the lid cage with one hand and turn the retainer clockwise to tighten.
      3. To remove, hold the base of the lid cage with one hand and turn the retainer counter-clockwise to loosen.
      4. Slide the cartridge filter off the lid cage.
    • Disposable Filter Bag (Not standard on all models):
      • Required for vacuuming fine dust or powders (e.g., plaster, drywall dust, cold ashes, concrete dust).
        1. Grasp the cardboard collar firmly and slide the rubber guard onto the inlet fitting as far as possible.
        1. When secured, expand the bag and position it around the side of the tank.
  • Wet Pick Up Operation:
    • Requires only the foam sleeve (not standard on all models) to be in position over the lid cage. Do not use the reusable dry filter for wet pick-up.
    • Misting in exhaust air may occur if the foam sleeve becomes saturated. If this happens, remove and dry the foam sleeve or replace it with a dry one.
    • Turn the unit off immediately upon completing a wet pick-up job or when the tank is full. Raise the hose to drain any excess liquid into the tank.
  • Blower Feature:
    • The vacuum can be used as a powerful blower by inserting the hose end into the blower port on the rear of the unit.
    • Clear the hose of any obstructions before attaching it to the blower port.
    • Caution should be used due to the powerful force of air when using certain attachments.
  • Automatic Suction Shut-Off:
    • The cleaner is equipped with an automatic shut-off for liquid pick-up. As the liquid level rises, an internal float seats itself against a seal at the motor intake, shutting off suction.
    • When this occurs, the motor will develop a higher-than-normal pitch noise. Empty the liquid waste from the tank to continue use.
    • If accidentally tipped over, the vacuum may lose suction. If this happens, place the vac in an upright position and turn the switch off to allow the float to return to its normal position, then resume operation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Filter Cleaning (Dry Pick Up):
    • To clean the reusable dry filter, shake off excess dirt and dust or rinse with water. Allow the filter to dry completely and reinstall.
    • Dirty filters reduce airflow and filtration efficiency. Do not machine wash or dry filters.
  • Foam Sleeve Cleaning (Wet Pick Up):
    1. Disconnect the plug from the wall receptacle.
    2. Place the tank cover upside down. Remove the foam sleeve by sliding it up and off the lid cage.
    3. Shake excess dust off the foam sleeve with a rapid up and down movement.
    4. Hold the foam sleeve under running water for one to two minutes, rinsing from the inside. A water wash is not always required, depending on the condition of the foam sleeve.
    5. Gently wring out excess water, blot the foam sleeve with a clean towel, and allow it to dry.
    6. Reinstall the foam sleeve on the lid cage.
    • Wet pick-up accessories should be washed periodically, especially after picking up wet, sticky kitchen accidents, using a warm solution of soap and water.
  • Emptying Liquid Waste:
    • Stop the motor and remove the plug from the wall receptacle.
    • Remove the tank cover and deposit the liquid waste into a suitable drain.
    • Some models have a convenient tank drain: remove the drain cap and empty the liquid contents into a suitable drain.
    • After emptying, return the cover to its original position. Plug the cord into the wall receptacle and start the motor to continue use.
  • Lubrication:
    • No lubrication is necessary as the motor is equipped with lifetime lubricated bearings.
  • Storage:
    • Before storing, the tank should be emptied and cleaned.
    • The power cord can be wound around the housing of the unit.
    • Accessories may be stored in the built-in tool storage provided on the tank cover on the rear of the unit.
    • The cleaner should be stored indoors.

Troubleshooting:

  • Suction weakens or cleaner runs hot:
    • Possible Cause: Clogged filter. Remedy: Brush dirt from the filter. If the condition continues, change the filter.
    • Possible Cause: Air leak. Remedy: Check all fittings for a tight fit (nozzles, hoses, etc.). Check that the tank cover is sealed properly.
    • Possible Cause: Obstruction in hose or nozzle. Remedy: Check the nozzle, hose, etc., for obstructions, and remove if present.
  • Misting in the exhaust air:
    • Possible Cause: Saturated filter. Remedy: Replace the saturated filter with a dry filter.
