Figure 136: Illustration of the measuring object
Operating reserve
The operating reserve affects how long the measurement can be performed correctly in
the event of adverse ambient conditions or contamination.
•
Standard - Best compromise between reflection resistance and operating reserve
•
High measurement accuracy - smallest detectable object is reduced.
•
High operating reserve - increased robustness in the event of contamination.
•
Switching thresholds from material teach-in - differentiation between two sta‐
tuses/materials (see "Switching thresholds from material teach-in", page 130)
NOTE
No operating reserve can be set in the Transparent operating mode.
NOTE
The switching thresholds from material teach-in operating mode is only available in the
Standard operating mode and in the scan mode Standard .
NOTE
With the High operating reserve power option, there is an increased risk of extraneous
reflection on shiny objects.
Minimum attenuation of an object (only in Transparent operating mode)
In the Transparent operating mode, the minimum attenuation of an object (MDA) must be
configured. In order to detect a transparent object, it must absorb a certain percentage
of the energy from the light beam.
