Value in OFF position 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
1)
DIP switch 8 has no function.
All DIP switches are set to 0 at the factory. If the address 0, 126, or 127 is set using the
DIP switches, then the address configured using SSA or SOPAS ET will be used.
1. Set the device address in the range of 1 to 125 using DIP switches 1 to 7.
2. Switch thesupply voltage off and then on again.
The modified device address is now active.
Addressing via Set Slave Adress (SSA)
The PROFIBUS function Set Slave Address is used for addressing via a PROFIBUS DP
master. The address can be set with any DIP switch setting on the MLG, but this
address will only also be used for communication with a DIP switch setting of 0, 126 or
127.
This function is also used to transfer the parameter No_Add_Chg (No Address Change). If
the status No_Add_Chg is activated, it is not possible to change the device address. You
can deactivate the status No_Add_Chg by setting the value 255 via DIP switches 1 to 8
(all to ON) and switching the voltage off and on again.
The factory setting for the address is 126 with the No_Add_Chg status deactivated. In
other words, you can change the device address.
NOTE
Restart the device after addressing.
Addressing via SOPAS ET
You can also set the address of the MLG-2 using SPOAS ET (see "System settings for
PROFIBUS", page 110).
The address can be set with any DIP switch setting on the MLG, but this address
will only also be used for communication with a DIP switch setting of 0, 126 or
127.
If the No_Add_Chg status has been activated via SSA, then it is no longer possible
to change the device address using SOPAS ET.
In the Address configuration area, you can enter the address in the PROFIBUS. You can
enter an address from 1 to 125 for the MLG-2.
