•
Contamination or fogging of the front screen of the sender and/or receiver
•
Misalignment
•
Continuous partial blocking of a light beam or several light beams
QoT – Quality of Teach (teach-in quality)
Table 60: QoT – Quality of Teach (teach-in quality)
Index Access Data type Description
13h R UINT-16 This module transfers the quality of the last
teach-in process.
00h = unsuccessful
64h = successful
The teach-in quality indicates how successful the teach-in process has been. The
MLG-2 calculates this value based on the quality of the light level received.
The value remains constant until another teach-in process is carried out.
7.3.3 Modules for initiating operating functions
7.3.3.1 Control
Table 61: Control
Object Access Data type Description
14h R/W UINT-8 This object is used to initiate operating func‐
tions on the MLG-2.
The object’s individual functions are stored in 8-bit:
Table 62: Details
Bit 7 TEST – Sender dark switching
•
0 = normal light grid function
•
1 = TEST active, i.e. the sender is switched off
Bit 6 TEACH-IN – Sensitivity teach-in
•
0 = one-time sensitivity teach-in not active
•
1 = one-time sensitivity teach-in active
Bit 5 BBH – Blocked Beams Hold (saves blocked beams)
•
0 = Blocked Beams Hold deactivated
•
1 = Blocked Beams Hold activated
Bit 4 Reserved
Bit 3 Reserved
Bit 2 SB – Standby (The sender is switched off. The beam status, basic functions
and switching output are maintained. These are invalid, since the light grid
does not perform measurements.)
•
0 = standby deactivated
•
1 = standby activated
Bit 1 Reserved
Bit 0 Reserved
7.3.4 Compatibility objects for the preceding version
To replace the existing MLG with the MLG-2 ProNet PROFIBUS, the MLG-2 supports the
output of beam functions and beam status with 8-bit length.
Use the FBM-P22 for complete compatibility.
