Function Description:

The Siemens RTSE is designed for the remote switching of power sources, ensuring a reliable and safe transfer between different supplies. It can operate in both automatic and manual modes, providing flexibility for various applications. The device manages the main power supply and control inputs, facilitating the selection of power sources and operational logic. It supports dual power supply configurations, which can enhance reliability, although the use of a Dual Power Supply (DPS) module is not strictly mandatory. When a DPS is not used, both supply 1 and supply 2 must be connected to the power supply, and appropriate short-circuit protection (fuses) must be installed. The RTSE can be integrated into a DIN rail system (IEC 60715) for easy mounting.

      • 317: Common control terminal for 313 to 315.
    • Terminals 313, 314, and 315 should not be connected to any power supply.

    • Tightening Torque: 0.5 Nm (for 0.5 x 3 mm screws).
  • Autotransformer (3KC9624-1):
    • Voltage: Ue = 400/230 V AC, Uimp = 2.5 kV.
    • Wire Cross-Section: 0.5 ... 2.5 mm² or 0.5 ... 1.5 mm².
    • Tightening Torque: 0.45 Nm (for 0.5 x 3 mm screws).
  • Bridging Bar (3KC9618-2 for 40-125 A, 3KC9618-3 for 160 A):
    • Tightening torque: 5.0 Nm.

Usage Features:

  • Remote Mode: The device supports remote operation, allowing for automated transfer switching based on predefined logic.
  • Manual Operation: In addition to remote control, the RTSE can be operated manually for emergency or maintenance situations. This involves using a tool to switch between positions I, O, and II. The maximum torque for manual operation is 8.0 Nm.
  • Padlocking Mode: The device can be padlocked in positions I, O, or II to prevent unauthorized operation during maintenance or other critical situations. This feature enhances safety by physically securing the switch position.
  • Operational Logic: The control inputs (313, 314, 315) allow for selection between impulse logic (momentary contact) and continuous operation logic (maintained contact).
  • Dual Power Supply (DPS) Module (3KC9625-1): This optional module provides enhanced reliability by managing two independent power supplies for the control electronics. If the DPS is not used, the control electronics must be powered from both supply 1 and supply 2, and appropriate fuses (3NW6003-1, 3NW7013) must be installed to ensure short-circuit proof wiring.
  • Accessories: The RTSE supports various accessories, including auxiliary contacts (3KC9603-1, 3KC9603-2), auxiliary conductor terminals (3KC9622-2), autotransformers (3KC9624-1), bridging bars (3KC9618-2, 3KC9618-3), sealing ribbons (3KC9621-2), and terminal covers (3KC9604-2, 3KC9621-2).

Maintenance Features:

  • Safety First: All installation and maintenance work must be performed by qualified personnel. Before working on the device, all power sources must be turned off and locked out to prevent accidental re-energization. All covers must be replaced before restoring power.
  • Sealing: For safety, only plastic seals (3KC9621-2) should be used for sealing the device. Metallic seals can pose a risk of electric shock in case of a fault.
