9.1 Basic safety information
Impermissible repair of the device
• Repair must be carried out by Siemens authorized personnel only.
Improper modification of parameters could influence process safety.
• Make sure that only authorized personnel may cancel the button locking of devices for
safety-related applications.
9.2 Cleaning
The radar device requires no cleaning under normal operating conditions.
Under severe operating conditions, the antenna may require periodic cleaning. If cleaning
becomes necessary:
● Note the antenna material and the process medium, and select a cleaning solution that
will not react adversely with either.
● Remove the device from service and wipe the antenna clean using a cloth and suitable
cleaning solution.
Penetration of moisture into the device
Device damage.
• Make sure when carrying out cleaning and maintenance work that no moisture
penetrates the inside of the device.
