Each element can be individually set to indicate operation when the power factor is above or below the
set threshold. Normal system operating conditions generally have a power factor approaching unity and
an Under-PF element will operate to indicate unwanted conditions. An Over-PF element is useful to
provide an operated indication during normal healthy conditions.
