6.1.1.3 Protective earth for USVI cabinet(s)
Normally, a USVI cabinet is mounted directly onto a system cabinet. This mechanical connection (via
metal connecting plates) guarantees the connection to earth via the earthed basic cabinet (see earthing
concept in Figure 4-6).
If no mechanical connection is possible or desired between the USVI cabinet and a system
cabinet, the USVI can also be set up separately. In this case, the protective earth connection
to the BC (earthing screw - see Figure 4-6) is established via the cable supplied
(C39195-Z7001-C50, 1.5 m, green/yellow).
6.1.1.4 Connecting a USVI to a system
ELS2-ACW mains cutoff unit
Warning
Always use the ELS2-ACW mains cutoff unit for non-feedback and isolated separation of
mains input (power plug) from PSUI.
This device can be used in alternating voltage networks with between 90 and 253 VAC in a power
range of up to 720 W. The device is split by removing the power plug from the mains and does not
have a separate switch.
The mains cutoff unit is attached to the ventilation grill on the metal back panel in each system by
means of brackets.
Procedure: connecting USVI and ELS2-ACW
All cables that exit the cabinet must be fastened to the ventilation grill on the metal back
panel by means of a cable strap.
