The error memory can be read out with Hicom Assistant E. The table is converted to a readable
format for display.
13.3.4.3 Measuring the system-wide use of features
Feature counters (e.g. missed calls list, CFW, call override/intrusion, etc.) are incorporated into the
system. You can use Hicom Assistant E to display the counts. The appropriate counter is incremented
each time a feature is used.
13.3.4.4 Activated features per terminal
All active codes can be deactivated for each terminal by entering a code (see Section 7.10.11 on page
7-239). Hicom Assistant E can be used to display, activate and deactivate features.
13.3.5 Error messages
Error classification
Class A: Errors relevant to the customer. These errors can be corrected by means of customer
intervention without service department support. The errors are displayed at the intercept
position. Class A errors are not recorded.
Class B: Errors relevant for service. The service department can correct these errors by
replacing hardware or reconfiguring the CDB in collaboration with the (public) carrier. Class B
errors include the failure of boards, individual ports on boards or trunks. The errors can be
signalled to a service centre.
Class C: Errors relevant for development. Specialists use these errors for diagnostics and
problem analysis. The errors are not signalled.
13.3.5.1 Class A error messages
The error message "PRINTER ALARM" (e.g. out of paper) is the only one currently provided.
13.3.5.2 Class B error messages:
In the tables below, appropriate actions are assigned to the respective error messages.
Recovery action includes the automatic error correction actions that are triggered by the
software (e.g. reload board).
Technician action refers to the actions which a technician must perform when the error
message fails to disappear, i.e. when a hardware fault has probably occurred.
