7.10.5 Boss/Secretary Functions
Definition
The Hicom 150 E Office system provides the option of implementing the following boss/secretary
configurations:
1 boss, 1 secretary
1 boss, 2 secretaries
2 bosses, 1 secretary
2 bosses, 2 secretaries
The following activities are possible between boss and secretary telephones:
Direct Station Selection key for boss/secretary: The direct station selection feature can be
used by the members of a boss/secretary group to reach the dialled extensions directly by
circumventing call management. Direct station selection can only be accessed via a
programmed direct station selection key. The direct station selection key is handled like a DSS
key. An internal call can be made by pressing the DSS key or by dialling the telephone number.
This produces a special ring for calls from the boss to the secretary telephone. 2 boss/secretary
rings are provided in the system, i.e. the ring from boss 1 is different to the ring from boss 2.
Secretarial transfer function: A secretarial transfer function can be configured via the call
forwarding feature, i.e. all calls intended for the executive are signalled on the secretary`s
telephone.
Call transfer to secretary`s telephone: A call can be transferred between the executive and
the secretary from the voice calling / direct answer features. In this regard, only a call which
was already answered and is now being held can be transferred.
Call forwarding to secretary`s telephone: A boss/secretary function can be configured in
such a way that all calls are signalled on the secretary`s telephone. In this case, signalling can
still be configured on both terminals by means of the `answer group' feature.
Service call: A `service call', i.e. an external display device can be activated by controlling a
relay (activate/deactivate).
