Note
The coaxial cable must have terminating resistors at both ends.
No spur lines are permitted in the coaxial cabling.
The T distributors must be positioned directly on the terminals.
Star topology with hub (10 BaseT)
In the case of this network topology, a hub is used as a central element. Each data terminal is
connected to this hub via a separate twisted-pair cable (e.g. 10BaseT-Ethernet). A standard hub
emulates a bus internally. If a cable malfunctions, only one terminal is affected. The integrated LAN
Bridge can be connected directly.

Older cables in Ethernet LANs
This is also a form of coaxial cables (10 Base2) where the transceivers are integrated in the wall
outlets. In this case, a 15-pin cable with a Sub-D terminator is used as a connecting cable. An adapter
cable is needed for connecting to the board.
