7.13.11 Malicious Call Identification (MCID)
Definition
This feature makes it possible to identify unwanted callers. This must be requested from and set up by
the public network carrier beforehand. The feature is then activated in the public network. The phone
number and name of the caller are then also stored in the public network. With each incoming call the
release of the call to the called extension is delayed for a specific interval allowing the called party to
activate the feature after the caller has hung up. Release of the call is delayed only if the feature has
been requested.
