Training MR workers and
physicians
A.1
Personnel and physicians must be trained in the safe and effec-
tive use of MR systems. The training must include the following
topics:

■ Emergency medical care
■ Controlled access area
■ Emergency switches
■ Measures preventing fires
■ Quench emergency plan
■ Prevention of hazards related to magnet forces
■ Combinations with other devices
The physician must complete a special training course on inter-
preting images.

◆ Train all personnel who have access to the MR system
(incl. cleaning crews, rescue personnel, etc.).
◆ Inform these people with respect to the hazards and
protective measures to be used when handling mea-
surement phantoms.
◆ Ensure that the training includes the topic on “Handling
leaks occurring with measurement phantoms ” as well
as “Handling and storing measurement phantoms”.
