7 - 2 Collimator Adjustment
• Moving the collimator IN is done by DECREASING the YC value and INCREASING the
YS, XL, and XR values.
Collimator check 7
You have to perform the check for all foci and Mo/Mo and W/Rh anode/filter combinations.
1. Make sure that a patient is registered.
2. Mount the Collimator Mounted Phantom.
3. Connect the compression simulator.
4. Selecting 25 kV and 50 mAs on the control console.
5. Start an exposure.
6. View the image with a magnification of 4.
7. Slide the magnification glass along the image edges of the image and check if
white lines are visible.
Collimator beam calibration 7
Collimator calibration is carried out for each focus including the field light focus.
1. Connect the compression plate simulator and the collimator mounted plexi phan-
tom.
If you do not see white lines at the edges of the image, the colli-
mator beam calibration is correct and you can continue with the
"Collimator field light calibration" on Page 7 - 4.
Otherwise continue with the "Collimator beam calibration" on
Page 7 - 2
