2.1.2 Communication via RS485 Interface
Devices equipped with an RS485 interface can communicate serially with peripheral devices using the Modbus
RTU Master and Modbus RTU Slave bus protocol. The serial interface supports the transmission of measured
data and indications. The connection is a 9-pin D-sub connector plug.
Data of the RS485 Interface when Using the Modbus RTU Master Protocol
The RS485 interface comes with the following parameters set by the manufacturer:
Bus protocol: Modbus RTU Master
Baud rate: 19 200 bit/s
Parity: even
Additional inter-character timeout 1 ms
Maximum 0x/1x register gap 40
Maximum 3x/4x register gap 10
You can modify these parameters during the parameterization, see Device Manual SICAM Q100, chapters 8
and 9.
Data of the RS485 Interface when Using the Modbus RTU Slave
The RS485 interface comes with the following parameters set by the manufacturer:
Bus protocol: Modbus RTU
Baud rate: 19 200 bit/s
Parity: even
Access rights full
Communication supervision time: 600 * 100 ms
You can modify these parameters during the parameterization, see Device Manual SICAM Q100, chapters 8
and 9.
