4.3 Preparing commissioning
Prerequisites: before you start
Before you start parameterization, you should clarify the following issues about
commissioning your application.
Are the factory settings sufficient for your application?
Check which factory settings can be used and which need to be changed (see Section
'Commissioning with factory settings'). When doing so, you may find that you only need to
change just a few parameters.
Which motor are you using? [P0300]
● A synchronous or induction motor?
The SINAMICS frequency inverters are preset in the factory for applications using 4-pole
three-phase induction motors that correspond to the performance data of the frequency
inverter.
Motor data / data on the motor rating plate
If you use the STARTER software and a SIEMENS motor, you only have to specify the
Order No. In all other cases, you must read-off the data from the motor rating plate and enter
into the appropriate parameters.
