10.1.2 Preconditions for an online connection
To be able to establish an online connection between SimoCom U and the
SIMODRIVE 611 universal drives connected to a SINUMERIK 840Di sl using
PROFIBUS DP, the following preconditions must be fulfilled:
S SimoCom U must be installed.
-- For installing SimoCom U, see Section 10.2, Page 10-283
S A PROFIBUS connection must exist from the PROFIBUS interface of the
MCI board to all drives.

S With all drives, the PROFIBUS address must be set.

-- For SIMODRIVE POSMO CD/CA and SI, see Section 10.1.4, Page

S The MPI interface of the SINUMERIK 840Di sl PLC must be networked
-- For networking the MPI interface, see Section 6.3.7, Page 6-145
S The configuration must be loaded into the PLC.

S The MPI interface must be set on the ”SINUMERIK MCI Card (MPI)”.

10.1.3 Setting a PROFIBUS address (SIMODRIVE 611 universal/E)
For SimoCom U to be able to enter online operation with the SIMODRIVE drives
connected to the PROFIBUS, the PROFIBUS address specified in the S7 proj-
ect (see Section 6.3, Page 6-139f) must be s et on DP slave 611U or UE in
question using the display and operator unit.
