Activity Description
Cleaning from outside Remove dirt and dust with a moist cleaning cloth (cleaning agent).
Device status
• Check whether additional work at the measuring point is necessary.
• Check whether a device replacement is required.
Documentation
• Documentation of device state, measured values, diagnostic messages, performed
activities, recommendations for operation.
• Have the customer countersign the operation report on site and forward it to the
operation control center.
6.1.2 Maintenance
Requirement
• You have completed the inspection.
• In agreement with the owner-operator, work under the following conditions:
– You work on an open device.
– The plant may be switched from normal operation to service operation when required.
Procedure
Activity Description
Leak tightness of the device
• Check terminal compartment: Soiling, humidity, condensation.
• If required, clean the terminal compartment.
Check the connections
• Check correct connection of screws, terminals and connector sockets.
• Check the wires for tension.
Functional check Check whether pressure transmitter, display and buttons are working.
Plausibility check
• Check the zero point and correct it if required. Under certain conditions, it is neces‐
sary to vent or drain the measuring point.
• Check whether the measured values on the display and the measured values in the
process control system match (for example: Are the values plausible and stable?)
• If present, evaluate trends.
Measured value check Compare the measured value with a reference pressure gauge.
Verify device access via remote op‐
eration (such as SIMATIC PDM)
Read out user data and diagnostic messages from device.
Check diagnostic messages Analyze diagnostic messages and inform the owner-operator about instructions for
handling.
Documentation
• Documentation of device state, measured values, diagnostic messages, performed
activities, recommendations for operation.
• Have the customer countersign the operation report on site and forward it to the
operation control center.
