Inlet and outlet conditions
To achieve accurate ow measurement it is essential to have straight lengths of inlet and outlet
pipes and a certain distance to pumps and valves.
It is also important to centre the owmeter in relation to pipe anges and gaskets.

Installation in partially lled pipes
For partially lled pipes or pipes with downward ow and free outlet the owmeter should be
located in a U-tube.
Installation in large pipes
The owmeter can be installed between two reducers (for example DIN 28545). At α ≤ 8° the
following pressure drop curves apply. The curves are applicable to water.
