8.2 Cleaning
Cleaning the enclosure
• Clean the outside of the enclosure with the inscriptions and the display window using a
cloth moistened with water or a mild detergent.
• Do not use any aggressive cleansing agents or solvents, e.g. acetone. Plastic parts or the
painted surface could be damaged. The inscriptions could become unreadable.
WARNING
Maintenance during continued operation in a hazardous area
There is a risk of explosion when carrying out repairs and maintenance on the device in a
hazardous area.
• Isolate the device from power.

Ensure that the atmosphere is explosion-free (hot work permit).
8.3 Maintenance and repair work

Repair must be carried out by Siemens authorized personnel only.
WARNING
Humid environment
Risk of electric shock.
• Avoid working on the device when it is energized.
• If working on an energized device is necessary, ensure that the environment is dry.
• Make sure when carrying out cleaning and maintenance work that no moisture
penetrates the inside of the device.
