Adapt the belt’s placement to the
occupant’s height
WARNING
If the seat belt is improperly placed, this
can lead to serious or lethal injury in the
event of an accident.
• The shoulder belt should go over the
middle of the shoulder and never under
the arm or over the neck.
• The seat belt must be at and tight
against the upper part of the body.
• The lap seat belt must go over the pelvic
region and never over the abdomen. The
seat belt must be at and tight against the
pelvis. If necessary, pull on the seat belt
a bit.
• For pregnant women, the lap belt must
go as low as possible over the pelvic
region, at and “surrounding” the stomach
>>> Fig. 9.
• Do not fold the belt while wearing it.
• Once the belt has been properly placed,
do not pull it away from your body with
your hand.
• Do not put the belt over rigid or fragile
objects, such as glasses, pens, or keys.
• Never modify the position of the seat belt
with pins for the belt, fastener rings, or
similar objects.
When, due to their physical constitution,
individuals cannot reach the optimum seat
belt position, they must ask at a specialised
shop about possible special devices to
achieve optimum belt protection. SILENCE
recommends that you see technical
service.
The S04 does not have backseats. For
this reason, you may carry a child in the
passenger seat.

Transporting children
Introduction
If you need to mount and use a
car seat for babies or children,
consider pertinent legal provisions
and the assembly instructions of
the manufacturer of the car seat for
babies or children.
INFORMATION
Along with vehicle documentation, we
recommend that you always carry the car
seat manufacturer’s user manual in the
vehicle.
Unlike adults, babies and children do
not have fully developed musculature or
bone structure. For this reason, they run a
greater risk of injury.
To reduce the risk of injury, children may
only be transported in chairs especially
designed for them.
