Thesetruckmaybecomehazardousifadequatemaintenanceisneglected.Therefore,
adequatemaintenancefacilities,trainedpersonnelandproceduresshouldbe
provided.
Maintenanceandinspectionshallbeperformedinconformancewiththefollowing
practices:
1.Ascheduledplannedmaintenance,lubricationandinspectionsystemshouldbe
followed.
2.Onlyqualifiedandauthorizedpersonnelshallbepermittedtomaintain,repair,
adjust,andinspecttruck.
3.Beforeleavingthetruck:
–Donotparkthetruckonanincline.
–Fullylowertheloadforks.
–Setthekeyswitch(4)tothe"OFF"positionandremovethekey.
–Drawingbacktheemergencybrakeswitch(11).
–Foldinthefoldingsidearm
4.Beforestartingtooperatetruck:
–Beinoperatingposition
–Placedirectionalcontrolinneutral
–Beforeoperatingtruck,checkfunctionsofliftsystems,directionalcontrol,speed
control,steering,warningdevicesandbrakes.
5.Avoidfirehazardsandhavefireprotectionequipmentpresent.Donotuseopen
flametochecklever,orforleakageofelectrolyteandfluidsoroil.Donotuseopen
pansoffuelorflammablecleaningfluidsforcleaningparts.
6.Brakes,steeringmechanisms,controlmechanisms,guardsandsafetydevicesshall
beinspectedregularlyandmaintainedinlegiblecondition.
7.Capacity,operationandmaintenanceinstructionplatesordecalsshallbe
maintainedinlegiblecondition.
8.Allpartsofliftmechanismsshallbeinspectedtomaintaintheminsafeoperating
condition.
