SYMPTOM ENGINE PINGING.
CONDITION NORMAL USE.
Test / Inspection 1. Check fuel lines.
a. Bent fuel lines (preventing fuel from flowing through).
Relocate or replace fuel lines.
2. Check if carburetor(s) is (are) clean.
a. Dirt prevents fuel from flowing through.
Clean.
3. Check ignition timing.
a. Timing is too advanced.
Adjust according to specifications (refer to TECHNICAL DATA 10).
4. Check compression ratio.
a. Compression ratio is too high.
Replace inadequate part(s) to obtain manufacturer’s recommended compression
ratio or use a higher grade fuel.
SYMPTOM ENGINE GENERATES A LOT OF VIBRATIONS.
CONDITION NORMAL USE.
Test / Inspection 1. Check engine supports.
a. Loose broken supports or interference between support(s) and chassis.
Retighten to specification (refer to TECHNICAL DATA 10) or replace.
2. Check drive pulley (refer to: vibrations coming from drive pulley).
3. Check carburetor synchronization.
a. Throttle slide heights are adjusted differently and / or throttle slide openings are
unsynchronized.
Adjust throttle slide heights and throttle cable.
