Why is there not enough suction to my Skim-A-Round The Floating Skimmer Lighting Equipment?
    • D

There might be several reasons for insufficient suction. First, the main/bottom drain valve at the pool pump might be open too much, diverting suction away from the Skim-A-Round. Partially close the main/bottom drain valve at the pool pump to resolve this. Second, check if the regulator fitting included with your automatic pool vacuum is still installed, and remove it from the bottom of the existing wall skimmer. Finally, if you have a small pump (1HP or less), install the velocity increasers.

What to do if my Skim-A-Round Lighting Equipment continuously runs dry?
    • S
      Stephanie WilkinsonAug 18, 2025
If your Skim-A-Round continuously runs dry and lifts out of the water, it could be due to the main/bottom drain valve at the pool pump being closed too much, resulting in excessive suction to the Skim-A-Round. To fix this, open the main/bottom drain valve at the pool pump. If the valve is already open or there is no main/bottom drain valve, install the included Regulator.
