CUE point is set and you can store it in the memory. Press shortly the MEMO button in the black field (23)
just below the display. The MEMO button lights up in red. Press the button marked 1 on the right side of
the MEMO button. Press the PLAY button to resume play. This way you can set five different CUE points.
Just press one of the buttons 1 to 5 to skip back to the set CUE points. If you press the BOP button, the
players always skip back to the last programmed CUE point. The CUE points are erased when the CD is
removed from the player.
CD memory function
You can store five different CUE points per CD up to a total of 255 CDs. Hold the MEMO button down (in
the black CUE field) until the green LED lights up. The memory function is now activated. Make sure that
the green LED is lit when you insert a CD. During the identification of the CD (‘read’ is displayed), the CD is
recognized by the number of tracks and the playing time. The formerly stored CUE points are activated
again.
18. BOP button
If this button is pressed, the player goes back to the last set CUE point and resumes play immediately from
that point. The CUE button has the same effect but the player switches into Pause mode.
19. JOG dial
This big, easy to rotate dial controls a number of functions.
a) During play, the speed is increased by rotating the dial clockwise and decreased by rotating it CCW.
b) In PAUSE mode, you can set any required point on the CD. The setting is very accurate per frame (Note!
1 second standard play time contains 74 frames)
c) The dial also controls various sound effects. This function will be explained more in detail in the
description of push-button 21.
20. BRAKE button
After pressing the BRAKE button, start and stop is delayed via the PLAY button by a “brake effect”. If this
function is active ’BRAKE’ is displayed. The duration of this “brake effect” is adjustable from 0.1 to 5
seconds. Proceed as follows: Hold the BRAKE button down for more than 3 seconds. ‘Brake’ is flashing on
the display and the set “brake time” appears. You can change this duration via the SEARCH buttons (14).
Press the BRAKE button (20) shortly in order to store the new setting.
After switching off the mains supply, the brake time is reset to the standard value of 2 seconds.
21. ON/OFF (EFFECTS)
This button activates one of the five special sound effects that are indicated by the LEDs just above the JOG
dial (19). If the LEDs are flashing, the sound effects are selected but still off.
22. SELECT button
Select one of the five sound effects via this button. Moreover this button controls the HOLD function. The
sound effects are:
a) SCRATCH effect, put the player in pause mode to achieve an optimal effect.
b) FLANGER, the increasing noise of a plane taking off.
c) FILTER, tone filter effect.
d) REVERB, echo effect.
e) REVERSE, the CD is played backwards.
The sound effect itself is controlled via the JOG dial. The strength of the sound effect is separately
adjustable. Proceed as follows:
a) Switch the PLAY mode on by pressing the PLAY button (15).
b) Switch the sound effect mode on by pressing shortly the ON/OFF button (21).
c) Press the SELECT button (22) to choose the sound effect you wish to change (e.g. filter, flanger or echo)
d) Hold the ON/OFF button (21) down for more than 3 seconds until the red LED above the button is
flashing.
e) ‘EF’ and the figure zero (0) are displayed.
f) Press the SELECT button (22) for more than 3 seconds until the ‘HOLD’ LED lights up.
g) Set the strength of the special effect via the JOG dial (19). The range goes from min. to 1499.
h) Press the ON/OFF button shortly to store the setting.
i) The ‘HOLD’ function is switched off by pressing the SELECT button for more than 3 seconds.
