Overview

This document provides installation, maintenance, and repair instructions for the Sloan Top Fill Soap Dispenser.

Function Description:

The Sloan Top Fill Soap Dispenser is a counter-mounted device designed to dispense soap. It features a top-fill mechanism, allowing for easy refilling without disassembling the unit from below the counter. The dispenser is available with either a 2L reservoir and motor, or it can be powered by a battery pack or an AC plug. It is designed for commercial use, likely in restrooms or kitchens, providing a convenient and hygienic way to dispense soap. The dispenser includes a spout with an integrated sensor for touchless operation, and an indicator light to signal its status.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Hole Diameter: The counter hole for installation must be 1-5/16" to 1-1/4". If there is no hole, a 1-1/4" diameter hole is required. If the hole is too large, a 2-1/2" diameter hole can be drilled to either the right or left of the faucet.
  • Counter Thickness: The dispenser accommodates a counter thickness of 2-5/8" or less.
  • Reservoir Capacity: 2L (when equipped with the 2L reservoir and motor option).
  • Power Options: Battery Pack (ESD-113), AC Plug (ESD-117), or Hardwire Kit (ESD-118).
  • Dimensions:
    • Front View: Spout height from counter surface is approximately 4.28". The total height of the unit from the top of the spout to the bottom of the reservoir is approximately 20.70". The diameter of the reservoir is approximately 4.20".
    • Side View: Spout reach from the center of the mounting hole is approximately 5.20". The total height from the counter surface to the top of the spout is 4.28". The total height from the top of the spout to the bottom of the reservoir is 20.70". The width of the spout at its widest point is approximately 2.37". The distance from the center of the mounting hole to the back edge of the spout is 1.25". The reservoir has a diameter of 5.20" and a height of 2.70" from its base to the mounting point.

Usage Features:

  • Touchless Operation: The dispenser features a sensor in the spout that detects hand movement, activating the soap dispensing.
  • Top Fill Mechanism: Soap can be refilled from the top of the counter by removing the spout and pouring soap directly into the fill tube. This eliminates the need to access the reservoir from underneath the counter, simplifying maintenance.
  • Spout Indicator Light: The spout has an indicator light that illuminates RED and YELLOW for 15 seconds to signal its status, likely for low soap or other operational alerts.
  • Adjustable Soap Spraying State: The dispenser allows for adjustment of the foam soap spraying state, which can be checked by pressing the operation switch.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Dispenser:
    • If the tip of the soap nozzle is clogged, the dispensing capability may fail or function partially.
    • To clean, first press the operation switch to OFF (the operation light goes off).
    • Remove the nozzle using a 2.5 mm Hex key.
    • Then, remove the internal mesh and wash it with lukewarm water.
    • Insert the mesh and then the nozzle back into the spout and tighten with the hex key.
    • Press the operation switch to ON (the operation light goes on).
    • Check the foam soap spraying state.
    • Repeat as needed.
  • Refilling Soap:
    • The dispenser is designed for easy top-fill.
    • Remove the spout and key.
    • Remove the dust cap from the soap refill.
    • Insert the soap refill into the fill tube until it clicks into place.
    • An orange light indicates soap is flowing into the dispenser. If the orange light does not illuminate, adjust the position of the refill until it comes on.
    • Depress the refill release button on the back of the spout to release the refill.
    • Push the spout door back into the locked position.
    • Pass your hand under the spout to dispense.
    • The dispenser will activate 4 times at startup to dispense foam soap.
