Function Description:

The popcorn popper operates by using hot air to pop popcorn kernels. Users simply add popcorn kernels to the popping chamber, place a heat-resistant bowl under the popcorn chute to collect the popped corn, and turn on the appliance. The hot air circulates around the kernels, causing them to pop and then eject into the waiting bowl. The device is designed for ease of use, with a simple on/off switch. It is specifically designed for popcorn kernels and should not be used with oil, butter, shortening, salt, or microwave popcorn.

Usage Features:

• Hot Air Popping: The MTP-1 utilizes hot air for popping, eliminating the need for added oils or fats, which results in a healthier popcorn.
• Simple Operation: To use, remove the cover, ensure vents are clear, pour popcorn kernels into the popping chamber (using a standard measuring cup), place a 4-quart or larger heat-resistant bowl under the chute, plug into a 120V AC outlet, and press the "ON/OFF" switch to the "on" position (marked "I").
• Quick Popping Cycle: Popcorn typically begins to pop within 3-4 minutes. The popping cycle is considered complete when there is a gap of 5 seconds between kernels popping.
• Serving Chart: A helpful chart is provided to guide users on kernel measurements for different serving sizes:
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) for 1 person
  • 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) for 2 people
  • 3/4 cup (12 tablespoons) for 3 people

• Safety Precautions during Use:
  • Always use hot pads or oven mitts when handling the appliance during or after operation, as surfaces become hot.
  • Do not immerse the cord, plug, or other electric parts in water or other liquids.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Unplug the cord from the wall outlet after popping and when not in use.
  • Do not leave the appliance plugged in unattended.

  • Do not allow the cord to hang where a child can reach it; arrange it to avoid pulling, tripping, or entanglement.
  • After the popping cycle, turn the "ON/OFF" switch to the "off" position (marked "O") and unplug the popper. Let it sit for at least one minute with the lid and measuring/butter cup in place, as unpopped kernels may still pop unexpectedly.
• Extension Cord Use: A short power cord is provided to reduce entanglement risk. If an extension cord is used, it must have an electrical rating equal to or greater than the appliance's rating. If the plug is grounded, the extension cord must be a grounding type 3-wire cord. Position the extension cord to avoid hanging over edges or being tripped over.
• Popcorn Quality: For best results, use fresh popcorn kernels. Dried out, stale, or old kernels may pop poorly or scorch. Premium and gourmet popcorns may not yield results as good as regular popcorn, potentially increasing unpopped kernels. Unpopped kernels do not necessarily indicate a defect in the appliance but can be due to environmental factors or popcorn type.
• Recipe Suggestions: The manual includes recipes for Caramel Corn and Chocolate Popcorn Deluxe, which can be made using the popcorn popped by the device.

Maintenance Features:

• Cleaning: The popcorn popper should be cleaned after every use.
  • Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Remove the cover from the popper base. Wash the cover in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry.
  • Wipe the exterior of the appliance base and popcorn chute with a soft, damp cloth and dry.
  • DO NOT immerse the appliance base in water or any other liquid.
  • DO NOT put the appliance base into the dishwasher. This will permanently damage the product and void the warranty.
  • DO NOT wipe inside the popping chamber.
  • Check during every cleaning that no pieces of popcorn are lodged into the vents and ensure the vents are clear before each use.
  • Do not use abrasive cleansers or scrubbers on any part of the popper.
• Storage: Do not touch the appliance or place it into storage while hot.
• Troubleshooting: If the appliance malfunctions or is damaged, contact Smart Planet Customer Service for examination, repair, or adjustment. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
• Warranty: The product comes with a 90-day limited warranty covering failures in material and workmanship from the date of original purchase with proof of purchase. The warranty is void if the appliance is damaged through accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, scratching, shipping, or alteration. Hand-written receipts are not accepted for warranty claims. Return shipping costs are not refundable.
