SK-289S /SK-289H /SK-289UPRODUCT MODEL NUMBER
A 115 Volt, 60 Hz., AC only, 15- or 20-amp electrical supply, properly grounded in accordance with the Naonal
Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances, is required.
It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your ice maker, be provided. Use areceptacle which cannot be
turned off by a switch or pull by chain.
ELECTRICAL
A cold water supply with water pressure between 0.13 Mpa [19 psi] and 0.55 Mpa [80 psi] is required to operate ice
maker. If you have quesons about your water pressure, call a licensed, qualified plumber.
WATER
Choose a well venlated area with temperatures above 55°F (13°C) and below 110°F (43°C). Best results are
obtained between 70°F and 90°F (21°C and 32°C).
Installaon of the ice maker requires a cold water supply inlet of 3⁄8" (6.35 mm) OD so copper tubing with a shutoff
valve or drain pump, only to carry the water to an exisng drain.
To ensure proper venlaon for your ice maker, the front side must be completely unobstructed. The ice maker may be
closed-in on the top and two sides, but the installaon should allow the ice maker to be pulled forward for servicing if
necessary.

Overview

The Snooker Ice Maker, available in models SK-289S, SK-289H, and SK-289O, is a commercial-grade appliance designed to produce ice efficiently and reliably. This device is built to meet the demands of various commercial settings, ensuring a consistent supply of ice.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Snooker Ice Maker is to produce ice cubes. It operates by freezing water into ice, which is then stored in an internal bin, ready for use. The ice maker is designed for continuous operation, provided it has a stable water supply and proper electrical connection. Its robust construction and adherence to safety standards make it suitable for professional environments.

Important Technical Specifications:

Electrical Requirements:

  • Voltage: 115 Volt
  • Frequency: 60 Hz
  • Current: 15- or 20-amp, AC only
  • Grounding: Requires proper grounding in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local ordinances.
  • Circuit: A dedicated, separate circuit serving only the ice maker is recommended to prevent overloads and ensure optimal performance.
  • Receptacle: The receptacle should not be controlled by a switch or pull chain to avoid accidental power interruptions.

Water Requirements:

  • Water Pressure: A cold water supply with pressure between 0.13 MPa (19 psi) and 0.55 MPa (80 psi) is necessary for operation. If water pressure is a concern, consulting a licensed plumber is advised.
  • Water Supply Inlet: Requires a 3/8" (6.35 mm) OD soft copper tubing for the cold water supply inlet.
  • Drainage: The unit requires a shutoff valve or drain pump to carry water to an existing drain.

Ice Cube Specifications:

  • Full Cube Size: 7/8" x 7/8" x 7/8"
  • Half Cube Size: 7/8" x 7/8" x 5/8"

Refrigerant:

  • Type: R290

Dimensions:

  • Width: 26 inches
  • Depth: 27 inches
  • Height: 36.5 inches (These dimensions are for planning purposes only and may vary slightly).

Usage Features:

Installation and Placement:

  • Ventilation: The front side of the ice maker must be completely unobstructed to ensure proper ventilation.
  • Enclosure: The unit can be closed-in on the top and two sides, but the installation must allow the ice maker to be pulled forward for servicing.
  • Ambient Temperature: Best results are obtained when the ice maker is operated in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperatures between 70°F and 90°F (21°C and 32°C). The acceptable operating range is between 55°F (13°C) and 110°F (43°C).
  • Leveling: The floor where the ice maker is placed must be even. The height of the unit can be adjusted using the leveling legs to ensure it is perfectly level, which is crucial for proper operation.

Drain Connection (Gravity Drain System):

  • Compliance: Drain connections must comply with all state and local codes and ordinances.
  • Drain Line Diameter: Drain lines must have a minimum of 5/8" (15.88 mm) inside diameter.
  • Slope: Drain lines require a minimum slope to prevent water from settling and flowing back into the ice maker. This can be achieved with a 1" drop per 48" (2.54 cm drop per 122 cm) of run, or a 1/4" drop per 12" (6.35 mm per 30.48 cm) of run.
  • Floor Drains: Floor drains must be large enough to accommodate drainage from all connected drains.
  • Standpipe Installation: The ideal installation involves a standpipe with a 1 1/2" (3.81 cm) to 2" (5.08 cm) PVC drain reducer installed directly below the drain tube outlet. A 1" (2.54 cm) air gap must be maintained between the drain hose and the standpipe.
  • Drain Pump (Optional): If a floor drain is not available, a drain pump is necessary. The drain pump discharge line must terminate at an open-sited drain.
    • Maximum Rise: 10 ft (3.1 m)
    • Maximum Run: 100 ft (30.5 m)
  • Hose Integrity: It is critical to ensure the drain hose does not become twisted, as this will prevent water from draining and impair the ice maker's function.

Maintenance Features:

Pre-Installation Checks:

  • Power Cord: Before installation, check that the power supply cord is not damaged, pinched, or kinked between the ice maker and the cabinet.
  • Water Supply Line: Verify that the water supply line is not damaged, pinched, or kinked between the ice maker and the cabinet.
  • Drain Line: (For models with drain lines) Ensure the drain line is not damaged, pinched, or kinked.

General Maintenance Notes:

  • The manufacturer, Snooker, maintains a continuous commitment to improving its products and reserves the right to change materials and specifications without notice. This implies that users should refer to the most current documentation for specific maintenance procedures and parts.
  • Regular checks of the drain hose for twists or obstructions are essential to prevent operational issues.

The Snooker Ice Maker is designed for straightforward operation and maintenance, making it a reliable choice for businesses requiring a consistent supply of ice. Adherence to the specified electrical, water, and installation guidelines will ensure optimal performance and longevity of the unit.
