Overview

The Solo Handheld Battery Sprayer 460 Li is a portable device designed for the application of liquid plant protection agents, pesticides, herbicides, liquid fertilizers, and clean water. It is intended for use in house and garden areas, as well as in sufficiently vented and ventilated under-glass cultures. The sprayer operates on a rechargeable Li-Ion battery with a rated voltage of 3.7 V and a capacity of 1.4 Ah.

Function Description:

The sprayer features an adjustable spraying nozzle (1) that allows for two distinct spray patterns: turning anti-clockwise produces a narrow, strong jet, while turning clockwise produces a fine, scattered mist pattern. Spraying is initiated by pushing the spray trigger button (2) and stopped by releasing it. The device is powered by a micro-pump system, delivering an operating pressure of 2 bar [29 psi] and a maximum application volume of 0.33 l/min [0.087 USgal/min]. It includes an intake tube (8) with a filter (9) to prevent clogging.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Spray Tank Capacity: Max. fill volume approx. 1.0 l [0.66 gal].
  • Residual Volume: < 20 ml [0.68 oz] (liquid that cannot be used).
  • Permissible Operating Temperature: 0–40 °C [32–104 °F].
  • Filter: Mesh gauge 0.5 mm [0.020"].
  • Battery: Rechargeable Li-Ion, 3.7 V, 1.4 Ah.
  • Output Current: 1.0 A.
  • Charging Time: Approx. 1.5 h (with minimum initial battery charge).
  • Operating Time: Approx. 1.0 h (with standard nozzle per charging cycle).
  • USB Charging Output Voltage: 5.0 V.
  • Weight (empty): 0.3 kg [0.7 lbs].
  • Weight (with max. filling volume): 1.3 kg [2.9 lbs].
  • Dimensions (Height x Width x Depth): 270 mm [10.63"] x 120 mm [4.72"] x 120 mm [4.72"].

Usage Features:

Before first use, the battery must be charged for 1.5 to 2 hours using the provided USB charging cable (6) connected to a 5V USB power source and the connection socket (7) on the sprayer. Overcharging is not possible.

To prepare for spraying, the tank screw connection (4) is opened by turning it anti-clockwise, and the entire spraying head, intake tube, and filter are removed. The spray liquid, prepared according to the chemical manufacturer's instructions, is then filled into the tank up to the "1LI" mark. Dangerous spraying agents should only be prepared outdoors. The sprayer should not be operated without liquid to prevent damage.

When spraying, the user should hold the device by the hand support (3) and point the nozzle at the target object from approximately 50 cm. It is crucial to check the direction of air movement and spray with it, not against it. The sprayer should not be used in wind or rain. The device is designed for single-person operation, and no other person should be within a 15m [approx. 16 yards] radius during use.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance and cleaning are essential for the device's longevity and to prevent damage. After each use, the spraying agent tank must be emptied and cleaned according to applicable laws and provisions, and the chemical manufacturer's instructions. The tank should be flushed well with clean water, and the sprayer should be run with clear water before drying with the tank open.

For storage, the sprayer should be empty and clean, protected from sunlight, in a dry, frost-free, and secure location at a maximum temperature of 35 °C [95 °F]. It should not be stored near open fireplaces or similar heat sources, and unauthorized access, especially by children, should be prevented.

The manual emphasizes the importance of using only SOLO genuine spare parts and factory-approved accessories. Any damaged parts should be replaced without delay. The device should not be modified by non-qualified persons, and unsuitable or non-genuine spare parts should be avoided.

Safety Provisions:

The user must strictly observe the guidelines provided by the chemical manufacturer. The sprayer is not to be used for aggressive, acid- or solvent-containing liquids, disinfectants, or waterproofing agents, nor with liquids above 40 °C [104 °F]. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including suitable protective clothing, firm shoes with good gripping soles, protective gloves, facial protection (e.g., goggles), and a breathing protection mask when using dangerous spraying agents. Users must be physically fit, rested, and healthy, and must not operate the sprayer under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication. Children and persons unfamiliar with spraying liquids should not work with or handle them. In case of skin or eye contact with spray liquids, affected body parts should be rinsed with plenty of clean water, and medical advice sought immediately. Contaminated clothing should be changed at once. Eating or drinking while handling spray liquids is prohibited. If nausea or excessive fatigue occurs, work should stop immediately, and medical advice sought if the condition persists.
