This unit is designed for negative ground 12 V
DC operation only.
Do not get the wires under a screw, or caught
in moving parts (e.g. seat railing).
Before making connections, turn the car
ignition off to avoid short circuits.
Connect the yellow and red power input leads
only after all other leads have been connected.
Run all ground w ires to a common ground
point.
Be sure to insulate any loose unconnected
wires with electrical tape for safety.
The use of optical instruments with this
product will increase eye hazard.
Notes on the power supply cord (yellow )
When connecting this unit in combination with
other stereo components, the connected car
circuit’s rating must be higher than the sum of
each component’s fuse.
When no car circuits are rated high enough,
connect the unit directly to the battery.

Caut ion
Handle the bracket 1 carefully to avoid injuring
your fingers.

Be sure to connect the ground cord before
connecting t he amplif ier.
If you connect an optional power amplifier and do
not use the built-in amplifier, t he beep sound w ill
be deactivated.

1 To a metal surface of the car
First connect the black ground lead, then connect
the yellow and red power input leads.
2 To the power antenna control lead or pow er
supply lead of antenna booster amplifier
Notes
It is not necessary t o connect this lead if t here is
no power antenna or ant enna booster, or wit h a
manually-operated t elescopic ant enna.
When your car has a built -in FM /AM ant enna in
the rear/side glass, see “ Notes on t he cont rol and
pow er supply leads.”

This connection is only for amplifiers. Connecting
any ot her syst em may damage t he unit .

If there is no accessory posit ion, connect to t he
+12 V power (bat tery) t erminal w hich is
energised at all times.
Be sure t o connect t he black ground t o it f irst .

Notes on the control and pow er supply leads
The pow er antenna control lead (blue) supplies +12
V DC w hen you t urn on t he tuner.
When your car has built -in FM /AM ant enna in t he
rear/side glass, connect t he power ant enna control
lead (blue) or the accessory power input lead (red)
to t he power t erminal of t he exist ing antenna
booster. For details, consult your dealer.
A pow er ant enna w it hout relay box cannot be used
wit h t his unit.
M emory hold connection
When the yellow power input lead is connected,
pow er w ill alw ays be supplied t o t he memory circuit
even w hen the ignit ion key is turned of f.
Notes on speaker connection
Bef ore connecting the speakers, t urn t he unit of f .
Use speakers w it h an impedance of 4 t o 8 ohms, and
wit h adequate power handling capacities to avoid
it s damage.
Do not connect the speaker terminals to t he car
chassis, or connect the t erminals of t he right
speakers w it h those of the left speaker.
Do not connect the ground lead of this unit t o the
negat ive (–) terminal of the speaker.
Do not at t empt to connect the speakers in parallel.
Connect only passive speakers. Connecting act ive
speakers (w it h built-in amplif iers) to t he speaker
terminals may damage t he unit .
To avoid a malfunction, do not use t he built-in
speaker w ires inst alled in your car if the unit shares
a common negative (–) lead for t he right and left
speakers.
Do not connect the units speaker cords t o each
ot her.
