Your computer does not recognize your camera.
• Turn on tile camera (_ stvp 2 in "Ream This Firat').
• When tile battery le'_el is low, install tile charged batteries (_ stu_ 1 in "Read Thi,_ Fir,_t'), or
use tile AC Adaptor (page 19).
• Use tile USB cable lsupplied) (page 73).
• Disconnect the USB cable, and connect it again firmly. Make sure that "USB Mode Mass
Storage" is displayed (page 73).
• Set [USB Connect] to [Mass Storage] in the _ (Setup) menu (page 67).
• Disconnect all equipment other Ihan the camera, the keyboard and the mouse ftom the USB
jacks of your computer.
• Connect the camera directly to your computer without passing through a USB hub or other
device (page 73).
• The soflware (supplied) is not installed. Install the software (page 71 ).
• Your computer does not properly recognize the device because you connected the camera and
your computer with the USB cable before you installed the solid, are (supplied). Delete the
erroneously recognized de'_ ice liom your computer, then install the software (see the next
item).
The "Removable disk" icon does not appear on the computer screen when you
connect your computer to the camera,
• Follm_ the procedure belm_ to install the USB driver again. The R_llowing procedure is for a
Windows computer.
t Right-click [My Computer] to display the metal, then click ]Properties].
The "System Properties" screen appears.
2 Click [Hardware] _. [Dex ice Manager].
• For Windows Me, click the ]Device Manager] tab.
The "Device Manager" appears.
3 Right-click [_' Sony DSC], then click [Uninstall] _ [OK].
The device is deleted.

You cannot copy images.
• Make the USB connection by properly connecting the camera _ith your computer (page 73).
• Follow the designated copy procedure for your OS (pages 73, 83).
• When you shoot images with a "Memory Stick Duo" R_rmatted by a computer, you may not
be able to copy the images to a computer. Shoot using a "Memory Stick Duo" lk_rmattedby
your camera (page 63).
After making a USB connection, "Cyber-shot Viewer" does not start
automatically,
• Start 'Media Check Tool" (page 79).
• Make the USB connection after the computer is turned on (page 73).
