Avant l’utilisation
La télécommande RM-KZ1 offre les fonctions
suivantes pour ces appareils :

Décodeur de câblodistribution ou récepteur
satellite : mise sous tension et hors tension
et
changement de canal
Disponible lorsque le réglage est modifié tel

configuration, puis soulevez-le pour l’ouvrir.
Installation des piles
Pour installer les piles, vous devez ouvrir le
couvercle du logement des piles après avoir ouvert
le couvercle des touches de configuration.

Insérez deux piles AAA (LR03) (non fournies)
en insérant le pôle négatif en premier dans
chacun des rails du logement des piles.

Refermez le couvercle du logement des piles.
Laissez le couvercle des touches de
configuration ouvert pour continuer la
préparation de la télécommande RM-KZ1.
Durée de vie des piles
Dans des conditions normales d’utilisation, les
piles alcalines AAA (LR03) durent jusqu’à 1 an. Si
la télécommande RM-KZ1 ne fonctionne pas
correctement, c’est peut-être parce que les piles
sont épuisées. Remplacez les piles usées par des
neuves.
Remarques
N’utilisez pas ensemble une pile usée et une pile
neuve, et n’utilisez aucun autre type de pile, tel que des
piles au carbone-zinc ou rechargeables.
En cas de fuite de l'électrolyte des piles, essuyez
l’intérieur du logement avec un chiffon et remplacez
les piles par des neuves. Pour éviter que l’électrolyte

Opening the Setup
Button Cover
First, you need to open the setup button cover to
install the batteries and set up the RM-KZ1.

Insert two size AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries
(not supplied), negative end first, through the
guide clamp within each compartment.

Close the battery cover.
Leave the setup button cover open to continue
to set up the RM-KZ1.
Battery life
Under normal conditions, size AAA (LR03)
alkaline batteries will last up to one year. If the
RM-KZ1 does not operate properly, the batteries
might be drained. Replace the batteries with new
ones.
Notes
ˎ
Do not use an old battery with a new one, or use any
other type of battery such as carbon zinc or
rechargeable.
ˎ
If the electrolyte inside the battery should leak, wipe
the contaminated area of the battery compartment
with a cloth and replace the old batteries with new
ones. To prevent electrolyte leakage, remove the
batteries if you plan not to use the RM-KZ1 for a long
period of time.
Setting the

Before assigning channels, you need to set the
manufacturer’s code for both TV and set top box
in the following order.
Set the manufacturer’s code for the TV.
Operate the TV to check the code you have set is
correct. (Up to this step when assigning TV channels
to favorite buttons)
Set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
Operate the set top box to check the code you have
set is correct. (Up to this step when assigning set top
box channels to favorite buttons)
Note
If you assign TV channels to favorite buttons, there is no
need to set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
The following procedure covers both TV and set
top box setup.

Channel selecting procedures can be assigned to

Closing the Setup
Button Cover
Using a screwdriver, close the setup button cover
by securing the screw.
Be sure that the battery cover is closed properly
beforehand.
Using the RM-KZ1
After setting up the RM-KZ1, your child needs
only to perform the following operations.

Searching for the correct code
You can set the manufacturer’s code using the
Search function.

Turn on the device by its power switch.

Aim the RM-KZ1 at the device you want to set.

Setting the volume button

The RM-KZ1 is factory-set to limit volume up and
down to prevent the TV volume becoming too
loud or too quiet (as a result, for example, of
children pressing VOLUME −/+ continuously).
You can remove the volume limitation or
deactivate VOLUME −/+.

the favorite buttons

At the factory settings, without setting the
manufacturer’s code for the set top box of
“Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” go to the
next step “Assigning a Channel.”

If you change all favorite button assignments
from set top box channels to TV channels,
perform steps 2 - 4 of “Set the manufacturer’s
code” of “Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” and
press “##10000##” in step 4. Then assign the
TV channels. (It is recommended that you clear
unused favorite buttons.)
Restoring the factory settings
You can clear all settings, and reset the RM-KZ1
to its factory settings.

Carefully apply the setup procedure of “Setting
the Manufacturer’s Code.” If the RM-KZ1 does
not work, apply the procedure repeatedly, using
another code listed for your device. If you still
cannot operate the RM-KZ1, try the Search
function.

Aim the RM-KZ1 directly at the device.
ˎ
Remove any obstacles in the path between the
RM-KZ1 and the device.
ˎ
Be sure that the device has infrared remote
capability. For example, if your device did not
come with a remote control, it probably is not
capable of being controlled by the RM-KZ1.
ˎ
The batteries are weak, or not inserted correctly.
Replace them with new ones or insert them
correctly.
ˎ
If the favorite button does not seem to be
working:
– Check that the desired channel is properly
assigned (see “Assigning a Channel”).
– Try to insert an interval (see “If the channel
assigned to
cannot be selected correctly
when you press Æ”).
ˎ
If the volume button does not seem to be
working, carefully apply the procedure of
“Setting the volume button functions.”
ˎ
If the power button does not seem to be
working, carefully apply the procedure of
“Setting the power button functions.”
Notes on setting the RM-KZ1

If the setting is incomplete, the LED indicator flashes
once and turns off. Start again from the beginning.
ˎ
If no operations are performed for 3 minutes while
setting, the setting will be canceled, and must be
restarted.

Before Use
The RM-KZ1 can perform the following functions
on these devices:

Opening the Setup
Button Cover
First, you need to open the setup button cover to
install the batteries and set up the RM-KZ1.
What you need
– Phillips-head screwdriver #1
– Two size AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries

Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw.

Slide the setup button cover, then lift to open.
Installing the batteries
To install the batteries, you need to open the
battery cover after opening the setup button cover.

Slide the battery cover, then lift to open.

Insert two size AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries
(not supplied), negative end first, through the
guide clamp within each compartment.

Close the battery cover.
Leave the setup button cover open to continue
to set up the RM-KZ1.
Battery life
Under normal conditions, size AAA (LR03)
alkaline batteries will last up to one year. If the
RM-KZ1 does not operate properly, the batteries
might be drained. Replace the batteries with new
ones.
Notes
ˎ
Do not use an old battery with a new one, or use any
other type of battery such as carbon zinc or
rechargeable.
ˎ
If the electrolyte inside the battery should leak, wipe
the contaminated area of the battery compartment
with a cloth and replace the old batteries with new
ones. To prevent electrolyte leakage, remove the
batteries if you plan not to use the RM-KZ1 for a long
period of time.
Setting the
Manufacturer’s Code
Before assigning channels, you need to set the
manufacturer’s code for both TV and set top box
in the following order.
Set the manufacturer’s code for the TV.
Operate the TV to check the code you have set is
correct. (Up to this step when assigning TV channels
to favorite buttons)
Set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
Operate the set top box to check the code you have
set is correct. (Up to this step when assigning set top
box channels to favorite buttons)
Note
If you assign TV channels to favorite buttons, there is no
need to set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
The following procedure covers both TV and set
top box setup.

Note
If you assign set top box channels to the favorite buttons,
be sure to set up the set top box after completing TV
code setup.
Assigning a
Channel
Channel selecting procedures can be assigned to
the favorite buttons (

to select any channel directly with a single press of
a favorite button.
You can assign either TV or set top box channels
to the favorite buttons.

Closing the Setup
Button Cover
Using a screwdriver, close the setup button cover
by securing the screw.
Be sure that the battery cover is closed properly
beforehand.
Using the RM-KZ1
After setting up the RM-KZ1, your child needs
only to perform the following operations.

Note

Searching for the correct code
You can set the manufacturer’s code using the
Search function.

Turn on the device by its power switch.

Aim the RM-KZ1 at the device you want to set.

Setting the volume button

The RM-KZ1 is factory-set to limit volume up and
down to prevent the TV volume becoming too
loud or too quiet (as a result, for example, of
children pressing VOLUME −/+ continuously).
You can remove the volume limitation or
deactivate VOLUME −/+.

Assigning the TV channels to
the favorite buttons

At the factory settings, without setting the
manufacturer’s code for the set top box of
“Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” go to the
next step “Assigning a Channel.”

If you change all favorite button assignments
from set top box channels to TV channels,
perform steps 2 - 4 of “Set the manufacturer’s
code” of “Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” and
press “##10000##” in step 4. Then assign the
TV channels. (It is recommended that you clear
unused favorite buttons.)
Restoring the factory settings
You can clear all settings, and reset the RM-KZ1
to its factory settings.

If you have problems setting up or using the
RM-KZ1:

Carefully apply the setup procedure of “Setting
the Manufacturer’s Code.” If the RM-KZ1 does
not work, apply the procedure repeatedly, using
another code listed for your device. If you still
cannot operate the RM-KZ1, try the Search
function.
ˎ
Aim the RM-KZ1 directly at the device.
ˎ
Remove any obstacles in the path between the
RM-KZ1 and the device.
ˎ
Be sure that the device has infrared remote
capability. For example, if your device did not
come with a remote control, it probably is not
capable of being controlled by the RM-KZ1.
ˎ
The batteries are weak, or not inserted correctly.
Replace them with new ones or insert them
correctly.
ˎ
If the favorite button does not seem to be
working:
– Check that the desired channel is properly
assigned (see “Assigning a Channel”).
– Try to insert an interval (see “If the channel

Notes on setting the RM-KZ1

Opening the Setup
Button Cover
First, you need to open the setup button cover to
install the batteries and set up the RM-KZ1.
What you need
– Phillips-head screwdriver #1
– Two size AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries

Slide the setup button cover, then lift to open.
Installing the batteries
To install the batteries, you need to open the
battery cover after opening the setup button cover.

Slide the battery cover, then lift to open.

Insert two size AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries
(not supplied), negative end first, through the
guide clamp within each compartment.

Close the battery cover.
Leave the setup button cover open to continue
to set up the RM-KZ1.
Battery life
Under normal conditions, size AAA (LR03)
alkaline batteries will last up to one year. If the
RM-KZ1 does not operate properly, the batteries
might be drained. Replace the batteries with new
ones.
Notes
ˎ
Do not use an old battery with a new one, or use any
other type of battery such as carbon zinc or
rechargeable.
ˎ
If the electrolyte inside the battery should leak, wipe
the contaminated area of the battery compartment
with a cloth and replace the old batteries with new
ones. To prevent electrolyte leakage, remove the
batteries if you plan not to use the RM-KZ1 for a long
period of time.
Setting the
Manufacturer’s Code
Before assigning channels, you need to set the
manufacturer’s code for both TV and set top box
in the following order.
Set the manufacturer’s code for the TV.
Operate the TV to check the code you have set is
correct. (Up to this step when assigning TV channels
to favorite buttons)
Set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
Operate the set top box to check the code you have
set is correct. (Up to this step when assigning set top
box channels to favorite buttons)
Note
If you assign TV channels to favorite buttons, there is no
need to set the manufacturer’s code for the set top box.
The following procedure covers both TV and set
top box setup.

Closing the Setup
Button Cover
Using a screwdriver, close the setup button cover
by securing the screw.
Be sure that the battery cover is closed properly
beforehand.
Using the RM-KZ1
After setting up the RM-KZ1, your child needs
only to perform the following operations.

Searching for the correct code
You can set the manufacturer’s code using the
Search function.

Setting the volume button

The RM-KZ1 is factory-set to limit volume up and
down to prevent the TV volume becoming too
loud or too quiet (as a result, for example, of
children pressing VOLUME −/+ continuously).
You can remove the volume limitation or
deactivate VOLUME −/+.

Assigning the TV channels to
the favorite buttons

At the factory settings, without setting the
manufacturer’s code for the set top box of
“Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” go to the
next step “Assigning a Channel.”

If you change all favorite button assignments
from set top box channels to TV channels,
perform steps 2 - 4 of “Set the manufacturer’s
code” of “Setting the Manufacturer’s Code,” and
press “##10000##” in step 4. Then assign the
TV channels. (It is recommended that you clear
unused favorite buttons.)
Restoring the factory settings
You can clear all settings, and reset the RM-KZ1
to its factory settings.

If you have problems setting up or using the
RM-KZ1:
ˎ
Carefully apply the setup procedure of “Setting
the Manufacturer’s Code.” If the RM-KZ1 does
not work, apply the procedure repeatedly, using
another code listed for your device. If you still
cannot operate the RM-KZ1, try the Search
function.
ˎ
Aim the RM-KZ1 directly at the device.
ˎ
Remove any obstacles in the path between the
RM-KZ1 and the device.
ˎ
Be sure that the device has infrared remote
capability. For example, if your device did not
come with a remote control, it probably is not
capable of being controlled by the RM-KZ1.
ˎ
The batteries are weak, or not inserted correctly.
Replace them with new ones or insert them
correctly.
ˎ
If the favorite button does not seem to be
working:
– Check that the desired channel is properly
assigned (see “Assigning a Channel”).
– Try to insert an interval (see “If the channel

Notes on setting the RM-KZ1

If the setting is incomplete, the LED indicator flashes
once and turns off. Start again from the beginning.

If no operations are performed for 3 minutes while
setting, the setting will be canceled, and must be
restarted.

Recommencez à partir de l’étape 1 de la section
« Réglage du code de fabricant du téléviseur ».
Répétez la procédure de réglage en utilisant un autre
code de fabricant (si d’autres codes sont indiqués pour
votre appareil). Si vous ne pouvez toujours pas
actionner la télécommande RM-KZ1 après avoir
essayé tous les codes de fabricant, utilisez la fonction
de recherche (reportez-vous à la section « Recherche
de code » sous « Réglages supplémentaires »).
Remarques
Si vous attribuez des canaux du décodeur de canaux
aux touches des préférés, assurez-vous de régler le
code du décodeur de canaux après avoir réglé celui du
téléviseur.
La télécommande RM-KZ1 est réglée en usine de
manière à limiter le réglage du volume vers le haut et
le bas pour prévenir un réglage trop élevé ou trop
faible du volume (par exemple, si l’enfant appuie de
façon continue sur VOLUME −/+).
Réglage du code de fabricant
du décodeur de canaux
Après avoir réglé le code de fabricant du
téléviseur, réglez de la même façon le code du
décodeur de canaux.
Actionner l’appareil

Allumez le téléviseur et le décodeur de canaux.

Pointez la télécommande RM-KZ1 directement
vers l’appareil.

Remarque
Si vous réglez le code de fabricant du décodeur de
canaux, la télécommande RM-KZ1 est prioritaire pour
faire fonctionner les canaux du décodeur (vous ne serez
pas en mesure de faire fonctionner les canaux du
téléviseur). Si vous souhaitez revenir aux canaux du
téléviseur, consultez la rubrique « Attribuer des canaux
du téléviseur aux touches des préférés » dans « Réglages
supplémentaires ».
Attribuer un
canal
Vous pouvez attribuer des procédures de sélection
de canal aux touches des préférés ( - ), ce qui
permet ensuite à votre enfant de sélectionner un
canal directement à l’aide d’une seule touche des
préférés.
Vous pouvez attribuer des numéros de canaux
d’un téléviseur ou d’un décodeur de canaux aux
touches des préférés.
Attribuer un canal
Exemple : Pour attribuer le canal 298 à la touche

Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée, puis
appuyez sur la touche numérique 3.

Vérifier le réglage

Allumez le téléviseur et le décodeur de canaux,
puis réglez la sélection d’entrée du téléviseur au
décodeur de canaux avec la télécommande du
téléviseur.

Appuyez sur une touche des préférés pour
vérifier qu’elle syntonise le canal souhaité.
Remarque
Si vous attribuez des canaux du téléviseur aux touches
des préférés, allumez le téléviseur à l’étape 1 de la section
« Vérifier le réglage ».
Effacer un canal attribué

Fermeture du
couvercle des touches
de configuration
Refermez le couvercle des touches de
configuration en vissant la vis avec un tournevis.
Auparavant, assurez-vous que le couvercle du
logement des piles est correctement fermé.
Utilisation de la
télécommande
RM-KZ1
Lorsque vous avez terminé la configuration de la
télécommande RM-KZ1, il suffit à votre enfant
d’effectuer les opérations suivantes.

réglé au niveau le plus bas sur le décodeur de canaux,
vous ne pourrez pas régler le volume du téléviseur avec
la télécommande RM-KZ1.

supplémentaires permettant une utilisation
pratique de la télécommande RM-KZ1.
Recherche de code
Il est possible de régler le code de fabricant à l’aide
de la fonction de recherche.

Allumez l’appareil avec son interrupteur
d’alimentation.

Pour continuer la recherche, maintenez

Vérifiez si l’appareil fonctionne correctement
avec le code de fabricant que vous avez réglé.
Si vous ne pouvez toujours pas actionner
l’appareil, répétez le processus pour rechercher
un autre code qui permette d’actionner la
plupart des fonctions de votre appareil.
Pour annuler le processus
Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée pendant plus de 3
secondes.

Vérifier le code de fabricant

pour savoir quel est le code de 5 chiffres.
Des clignotements rapides indiquent le rang du
chiffre (premier, deuxième, etc.), suivis de
clignotements longs indiquant le chiffre (p. ex.,
2 longs clignotements indiquent le chiffre 2).
Un clignotement rapide indique « 0 ». Pour
revérifier le code, appuyez sur ENT.

Réglage des fonctions des
touches de volume
La télécommande RM-KZ1 est réglée en usine de
manière à limiter le réglage du volume vers le haut
et le bas pour prévenir un réglage trop élevé ou
trop faible du volume (par exemple, si l’enfant
appuie de façon continue sur VOLUME −/+).
Vous pouvez retirer les limites de réglage du
volume ou désactiver entièrement les touches
VOLUME −/+.

Vous pouvez modifier cette série d’opérations
consécutives réglée sur la touche selon vos
préférences.

Attribuer des canaux du
téléviseur aux touches des
préférés
Après avoir réglé le code de fabricant du
téléviseur, sans avoir réglé celui du décodeur,
passez à l’étape suivante « Attribuer un canal ».
Si vous modifiez tous les canaux attribués aux
touches de préférés pour les changer des canaux
du décodeur aux canaux du téléviseur, exécutez
la procédure contenue à la rubrique « Réglage
du code de fabricant du téléviseur » dans
« Réglage du code d’appareil du fabricant » puis
appuyez sur « 19999 » à l’étape 4. Attribuez
ensuite aux touches les canaux du téléviseur. (Il
est recommandé d’effacer les touches des
préférés non utilisées.)
Réinitialiser les réglages par
défaut
Il est possible d’effacer tous les réglages de la
télécommande RM-KZ1 et de les réinitialiser aux
valeurs d’origine réglées en usine.

Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée, puis
appuyez sur la touche numérique 0.
L’indicateur lumineux s’allume.

Relâchez les deux touches.

Aide
Si vous avez des difficultés lors de la configuration
ou de l’utilisation de la télécommande RM-KZ1 :
Suivez minutieusement la procédure de
configuration de la section « Réglage du code
d’appareil du fabricant ». Si la télécommande
RM-KZ1 ne fonctionne pas, répétez la
procédure de réglage en utilisant un autre code
de fabricant indiqué pour votre appareil dans la
liste. Si vous ne pouvez toujours pas actionner
la télécommande RM-KZ1, utilisez la fonction
de recherche.
Pointez la télécommande RM-KZ1 directement
vers l’appareil.
Retirez tout obstacle se trouvant entre la
télécommande RM-KZ1 et l’appareil.
Assurez-vous que l’appareil est équipé d’un
dispositif de commande à distance infrarouge.
Par exemple, si votre appareil n’a pas été livré
avec une télécommande, il est probable qu’il ne
puisse pas être piloté par la télécommande
RM-KZ1.
Les piles sont faibles ou insérées
incorrectement. Remplacez-les par des piles
neuves ou insérez-les correctement.
Si la touche d’un préféré ne semble pas
fonctionner :
– Vérifiez que le canal souhaité est attribué
correctement (reportez-vous à la section
« Attribuer un canal »).
– Insérez un intervalle (reportez-vous à la
section « Si le canal attribué à la touche
n’est pas syntonisé correctement lorsque vous
appuyez sur la touche »).
Si la touche de volume ne semble pas
fonctionner, suivez minutieusement la
procédure de la section « Réglage des fonctions
des touches de volume » dans « Réglages
supplémentaires ».
Si la touche d’alimentation ne semble pas
fonctionner, suivez minutieusement la
procédure de la section « Réglage des fonctions
de la touche d’alimentation » dans « Réglages
supplémentaires ».
Remarques concernant le réglage de la
télécommande RM-KZ1
Si le réglage est incomplet, l’indicateur lumineux
clignote 1 fois et s’éteint. Recommencez depuis le
début.
Si vous n’effectuez aucune opération dans un délai de 3
minutes pendant le réglage, la procédure de réglage est
annulée et vous devez la reprendre à partir du début.
