Overview

The ALBLFT Aluminum Bike Lift is a ceiling-mounted storage system designed to hoist and store bicycles, freeing up floor space in garages or other areas. It is designed for single-bike use and has a maximum weight capacity of 44 lbs.

Function Description:

The primary function of the ALBLFT Aluminum Bike Lift is to provide an elevated storage solution for bicycles. It utilizes a pulley system to allow users to easily lift and lower their bike, securing it out of the way when not in use. The system consists of a main rail that mounts to the ceiling, two pulley assemblies with hooks that attach to the bike, and a rope and cleat mechanism for operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Item Number: ALBLFT
  • Product Type: Aluminum Bike Lift
  • Maximum Weight Capacity: 44 lbs.
  • Rail Mounting: Designed for ceiling studs. Can be mounted parallel to one stud or across two or three studs perpendicularly. Pre-drilled holes in the rail are spaced at 16" or 24" on center for perpendicular installation.
  • Rope Length: 48 ft. (H)
  • Components:
    • A: Rail (1)
    • B: Pulley Assemblies (2) – Includes one double pulley assembly and one single pulley assembly.
    • C: Hooks (2)
    • D: Pulley Stop Blocks (5) – Used to secure the pulley assemblies and the rope stop block in place.
    • E: Eye Bolt (1) – Part of the rope stop block.
    • F: End Caps (2) – For the rail.
    • G: Deck Screws (8) – For mounting the rail and rope cleat.
    • H: 48 Ft. Rope (1)
    • I: Rope Cleat (1)
    • J: Hex Wrench (1) – For tightening stop blocks.

Usage Features:

  • Installation:
    1. Locate Ceiling Studs: Identify ceiling studs for secure mounting. Avoid installing in the path of a garage door.
    2. Secure Rail: Attach the rail (A) to the ceiling studs using the provided deck screws (G). A minimum of two screws is required, with three recommended for optimal security. For parallel mounting on one stud, place screws towards each end and in the middle.
    3. Initial Stop Block Placement: Slide two pulley stop blocks (D) onto the rail.
    4. Mount Pulley Assemblies: Slide each pulley assembly (B) onto the rail from opposite sides. Ensure the locking mechanism on the double pulley assembly faces towards the end of the rail.
    5. Final Stop Block Placement: Slide the remaining two pulley stop blocks (D) onto each end of the rail. Slide the pulley stop block with the loop (E) onto the side with the single pulley assembly.
    6. Attach End Caps: Secure the end caps (F) to the rail.
    7. Thread Rope: Tie one end of the rope (H) to the stop block with the loop (E). Thread the rope through the hooks (C) and pulley assemblies (B) as shown in the diagram. Crucially, ensure the rope is threaded through both sections of the locking mechanism on the double pulley assembly.
    8. Position Pulley Assemblies: Measure the distance between the bike's handlebars and the back of the seat. Adjust the pulley assemblies on the rail so that the distance between the hooks (C) approximates this measurement.
    9. Secure Pulley Assemblies: Once the pulley assemblies are correctly positioned, tighten all four stop blocks (D) using the hex wrench (J) to prevent any movement.
    10. Install Rope Cleat: Attach the rope cleat (I) to the wall using the provided deck screws (G). This cleat is used to store excess rope.
  • Operation:
    1. Attach Hooks: Attach the two hooks (C) to the bicycle – one to the handlebars and the other behind the seat.
    2. Raise Bike: Pull the rope (H) to lift the bicycle.
    3. Lower Bike: To lower the bike, pull the rope back towards the center of the bike, then slowly release the rope while maintaining tension.
  • Safety Warning: "DO NOT OVERLOAD! Max Weight Capacity is 44 lbs."
  • Product Safety: Users are advised that if there is any question about a condition being safe or unsafe, they should not use the product.

Maintenance Features:

  • Rope Management: Store excess rope on the wall-mounted rope cleat (I). Do not cut the excess rope.
  • Warranty: The proper use of this product, including installation, utilization, loading, and care, is essential for the limited warranty to remain valid. Failure to comply strictly with the instructions will void the warranty.
  • Customer Support: For problems, questions, or parts, customers can contact Customer Service at 1-636-532-9888, Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM Central Time. A copy of the sales receipt is required. Users should keep the manual, sales receipt, and applicable warranty for future reference.
