Overview

This document describes the SricamPC software, a free application designed for Microsoft Windows 7, 8, or 10 PCs, enabling users to configure and watch live video streams from Sricam cameras. The software provides comprehensive functionalities for both local and remote access to your security cameras, offering a robust solution for monitoring and managing your surveillance system.

Function Description

SricamPC serves as a central hub for managing your Sricam cameras. Its primary function is to allow users to access cameras via a Local Area Network (LAN) or a Wide Area Network (WAN), meaning you can view your cameras locally within your home or business network, or remotely from anywhere with internet access. This flexibility ensures continuous monitoring regardless of your physical location.

A key feature of SricamPC is its ability to watch live video streams from multiple cameras simultaneously. This multi-camera viewing capability is crucial for comprehensive surveillance, allowing users to keep an eye on different areas at once. The software also supports recording and saving live videos directly to your PC, providing a local backup of important footage. Furthermore, SricamPC allows you to watch or transfer video files from the Sricam camera's built-in micro SD card to your PC, making it easy to review past events or archive footage.

Beyond live viewing and recording, SricamPC offers configuration capabilities for your Sricam devices. You can adjust network settings, such as IP addresses and Wi-Fi connections, and manage micro SD card settings directly through the software. However, it's important to note that for certain camera configurations, such as turning alarms on or off or updating the camera's password, the Sricam App on your smartphone should be used. This distinction ensures that critical security settings are managed through a dedicated mobile interface, while SricamPC handles the broader viewing and recording functionalities.

Usage Features

Getting started with SricamPC involves a straightforward download and installation process from the Sricam website. Once installed, an icon will appear on your PC's desktop. For Windows 10 users, it's recommended to install and run SricamPC as an administrator to ensure full functionality.

There are two primary ways to access your cameras: Local Access (LAN) and Remote Access (WAN). For local access, when your camera and computer are on the same network, you can log in with the default username "admin" and password "admin." This method is quick and convenient for in-network monitoring. For remote access, when you are outside your home or business network (e.g., at a coffee shop or work), a free registered account is required. This account is separate from any Sricam App accounts you might have on your smartphone, emphasizing the need for a dedicated SricamPC account for WAN access.

Adding a device to SricamPC can be done in two ways. The first method involves using the "search device" button, which automatically detects cameras on the same LAN. Once detected, you double-click to select the camera, enter its password, and save. If auto-detection fails, disabling your PC's firewall might help. The second method is manual, where you enter the device name, device ID, and device password directly. The camera's IP address can be found through the Sricam App on your smartphone under "Network Setting."

Once cameras are added, they appear in the "All Device" list. Double-clicking a camera icon initiates live video streaming. During live viewing, several controls are available. You can change the video resolution between HD, SD, and LD. Audio input and output can be enabled or disabled, though these features may not be available on outdoor cameras. Manual video recording is supported, with recorded files saved to a specified path on your PC. You can also capture screenshots of the live feed, which are saved to a dedicated pictures folder. A button is also available to close the video session.

SricamPC also includes Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) controls, accessible by right-clicking on a camera's display window. These controls allow you to adjust the camera's viewing angle and zoom level. For specific models like SP008, zoom and focus buttons are available, along with a "Zoom reset" button to restore factory defaults if the video clarity is an issue.

The playback function is another essential feature, allowing you to review recorded videos. The left side of the screen lists available files, categorized by source and type (e.g., SD Card Videos). You can playback videos recorded on your local PC or stored on the camera's micro SD card. Additionally, SricamPC enables you to download files recorded on the micro SD card to your local PC for archiving or further analysis.

Maintenance Features

SricamPC provides several features to help maintain your surveillance system. One crucial aspect is the ability to change the image and video save folders. By accessing the settings menu, you can browse and choose alternate folders for storing recorded videos and screenshots, ensuring that your media files are organized and saved to your preferred locations.

Configuring network and micro SD settings is also straightforward. By right-clicking on a device in the device list and selecting "Device Parameter Setting," a window will pop up allowing you to adjust various parameters. For IP address configuration, you can click "Refresh" to view the camera's current IP information. If DHCP is disabled, you can manually update the IP address.

For Wi-Fi network configuration, clicking "Refresh" will list available Wi-Fi SSIDs. You can then select your desired Wi-Fi network, input the password, and save the settings. After a brief waiting period, the camera will connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Micro SD card record settings can also be managed here. Clicking "Refresh" will display the camera's micro SD card information, allowing you to enable or disable micro SD card recording. However, for more advanced recording settings, such as motion detection alarm recording or timing record settings, the Sricam App on your smartphone should be used. This division of functionality ensures that basic maintenance tasks are accessible through SricamPC, while more intricate, security-sensitive configurations are handled by the mobile application.

The manual also highlights the difference in login accounts and device addition for LAN versus WAN access, which is a key maintenance consideration for users who switch between local and remote monitoring. For WAN access, a refresh button is available in the top left corner of the interface, which can be useful for updating the device list or connection status.

In summary, SricamPC is a versatile and user-friendly software that empowers users to effectively manage and monitor their Sricam security cameras. Its comprehensive features for live viewing, recording, playback, and basic configuration make it an indispensable tool for maintaining a robust surveillance system.
