To shift from “P”, the ignition switch must be turned to ON
and the brake pedal must be depressed.
If you cannot shift out of
“P”, check the followings:
- The ignition key is in “ON”.
- The brake pedal is depressed.
If you cannot shift out of “P” with the ignition switch in ON,
and the brake pedal depressed:
1. Apply the parking brake firmly and turn the ignition off.
2. Depress the brake pedal and push down the shift lock
release lever with a stick such as a pen. Then, shift the
lever to “N”.
3. Start the engine, release the parking brake, and place the
selector lever at “-D+”.
SHIFT LEVER LOCK RELEASE
If this happens, have your vehicle repaired by the nearest
Ssangyong dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service Center as
soon as possible.
