Priority operation med for DHW are started together with the
DHW loading pump, and the remaining heat
pumps with the buffer loading pump for hea-
ting operation. This operation is only appropri-
ate for cascades.

DHW AUTO
Automatic DHW operation independent of
the outside temperature
The menu point DHW AUTO can be swit-
ched ON or OFF.
For multi-stage WPL, DHW loading takes
place subject to load and outside temperature.
Automatic operation applies to multi-stage
air/water heat pumps.
In addition an adjustable outside temperature
can be selected. Setting range: –15 °C to + 30
°C, standard setting 5 °C
Above ≥ 5.1°C, only one heat pump stage
produces DHW.
At ≤ 5.0 °C, stage 1 starts; 10 s. later stage 2 is
added and so forth.
All DHW stages must be enabled as soon as
DHW AUTO is utilised.

WW ECO
DHW learning function
When heating DHW with HP type 2, the sys-
tem automatically adjusts itself to the required
DHW temperature (self-learning function).
This self-adjusting DHW temperature repre-
sents the maximum DHW temperature that
this system can reach.
Setting OFF: The DHC is activated as backup
heater as soon as the heat pump is switched
off in DHW mode, either via the maximum
DHW flow temperature or via the hot gas
limiter. If during this operation the DHW flow
temperature reaches 70 °C, the DHC cart-
ridge is switched OFF again and DHW heating
is terminated. The controller then overwrites
the set DHW temperature with the prevailing
DHW temperature.
Setting ON: As soon as the heat pump is
switched off in DHW mode, either via the
maximum DHW flow temperature or via the
hot gas limiter, DHW heating is terminated.
The set DHW temperature is then overwrit-
ten with the prevailing DHW temperature.
With HP types 1 and 3, and the WW ECO
set to ON, the heat pump is switched OFF in
DHW mode when the maximum DHW flow
temperature has been reached; this termi-
nates DHW heating. In this case, too, the set
DHW temperature is then overwritten with
the prevailing DHW temperature. With WW
ECO set to OFF, the heat pump will be swit-
ched OFF during DHW heating and when
the maximum DHW flow temperature has
been reached. After expiry of the idle time,
the heat pump will recommence the DHW
operation.

DHW STAGES
Heat pump stages for DHW
Here, you can pre-select the number of heat
pump stages for DHW loading. Stages can no
longer be set to 0 as soon as a DHW sensor
is connected.
36
DHW HYSTERIS
This determines the switching hysteresis for
DHW operation.
Starting DHW loading at DHW set
value minus hysteresis.
37
PASTEURISATION
This setting can only be selected at heat
pumps type 2 with internal DHC. With ac-
tivated pasteurisation, the cylinder will be
heated each night to 60 °C at 01:00 h.
Pasteurisation can only be achieved with a
heat pump with direct electric boosting (in-
ternal DHC stages).
38
DEFROST MIN
Minimum defrost time
Pre-selectable time in minutes for the defrost
process of the IWS. The selected time applies
to manual or demand-dependent defrosting.
39
MAN DEFROST
Manual defrosting
Manual defrosting can only be initiated with
the heat pump in operation. The defrost time
is governed by parameter 38 DEFROST MIN;
the display shows the defrost symbol.
Defrost function
Defrosting differentiates between hot gas and
reverse defrosting. The type of defrosting
is determined by the position of the slide
switches (WP-Typ) on the IWS. Demand-
dependent defrosting is initiated via a signal
from the compressed air socket on the IWS.
With both types of defrosting, the evaporator
During priority operation, only the heat pump
pre-selected for DHW remains or is switched
ON.
In other words, within the heat pump cascade,
DHW loading takes priority over central hea-
ting. Only the DHW loading pump runs with
the corresponding heat pump.
Parallel operation
During parallel operation, all heat pumps
remain switched ON or the heat pumps pro-
grammed for DHW loading are switched ON.
The DHW and buffer loading pumps of the
corresponding heat pumps operate.
The DHW and buffer loading pumps will
always also be started with the heat pump if
DHW loading takes place, even if there is no
heating demand.
Part priority
During part priority, all heat pumps remain
switched ON or the heat pumps program-
