14. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The engine does not start or
starts badly
No power supply to battery
Check alternator charge [

Starting motor short circuit (burnt rotor
and stator)
Replace starting motor [

No earth
Check electrical cabling of earth wire

Earth wire is attened
Replace earth wire [

The coil is faulty and does not supply
current or the air gap is too large.
Check coil [

Petrol tank obstructed
Check functioning of pump [

broken or disconnected
Check or replace tube [

Check and clean the carburettor [
