Other points to observe when starting:
The choke valve
is operated by the Master Control lever
(see "Master Control").
When
starting a
cold
engine only keep the Master Control
lever
in
the
position
until the engine fires. Then move
Master Control lever
immediately to )1.(, even if the engine
stops and you have continue
cranking. If you leave the Ma-
ster
Control lever
on H,
the
combustion chamber
will
flood and stall
the engine.
If you have moved the Master
Control lever
to
)x( and the
engine still does not
run
after several attempts, it is already
flooded. In such a case, remove
and dry off the spark plug.
With the spark plug still removed,
set the Master Control
lever
to
and crank the engine
over several times with
the starter to clear
the combustion chamber. When you
now try to start,
move the Master
Control lever
to )x(
even
if the engine is cold.
At very low outside temperatures you should still
move the
Master Control to )x( and disengage
the throttle trigger
from the starting throttle position by briefly accelerating
the engine but
then
warm up
the
engine at part throttle
for a short period.
Electrically Heated Handles
(Option)
Heating
switched
on
The handle heating systems enables you to
keep a warm,
comfortable grip on the front and
rear handles at extre-
mely low outside
temperatures.
The heating system is controlled by
means of a switch on
the
handlebar. The symbols above and below the switch
indicate the two switch positions: "0" for heating off "I"
for heating on,
i.e. the switch
must be moved to
"I"
to
switch the heating on.
The heating
system is designed to heat the front and
rear
handles
to an adequate level. There is no risk of overhea-
ting during long
periods of continuous operation. The
whole heating
system
is
maintenance-free.
A new engine or one
which
has
been
run
until the
fuel
tank
is dry will
not start first time after fueling because fuel will
only begin
to reach the carburetor after the engine
has
been cranked over several
times.
