28 Series 4144 Components FC, FS, KM
Check the flywheel:
– Have pole shoes turned blue?
– install new flywheel if necessary,
see "Series 4144 Powerhead"
Air gap:
– Check ignition module/flywheel,
– adjust if necessary, see "Series 4144
Check the ignition lead:
– Severe chafing?
– Spark plug boot: Holes/cracks?
– Resistance: spark plug boot to ground: spec.
1.5 – 12 kΩ
– Check resistance of ignition lead
: spec. < 10 Ω,
If necessary, install new ignition lead, spark
plug boot and/or ignition module,
see "Series 4144 Powerhead"
Check short circuit wire:
– Wire damaged?
– Connectors firmly seated?
– Check the short circuit wire for break and
replace if necessary, b 5.9
