9.1 The map cannot be updated from a USB drive (CCU detects USB.)

(1) Probable Cause
ͻ USB data, CCU software
(2) Operation of MAP update by USB
Step1 : Push “Settings” icon.
Step2 : Push “Navigation” tab.
Step3 : Push “Map update” list item.
Step4 : Insert the USB device.
Step5 : Push “USB” icon.
Step6 : Insert activation code.
Step7 : MAP update starts.
(3) Problem
After inserting the USB device (step4) , 2 types of problem may occur.
Case (A) : CCU detects USB device, however, not move to step5.
The following message appears.
“Map data has not been detected, please ensure the USB device is properly inserted.”. Go to
step (4).
Case (B) : CCU does not detect USB device, therefore, not move to step5
No message appears.
Go to troubleshooting 8.2.
(4) Diagnosis
Explain how to fix “Case (A)”.
1. Check the CCU software version
Step1 : Push “Settings” icon.
Step2 : Push “General” tab.
Step3 : Push “System information” list item.
Step4 : Note “software version”. This version is CCU software version, need to confirm the latest.
2. Check the MAP data in the USB device
The MAP data may broken. Download the MAP data from the SUBARU WEB site and save to USB
device, again.
3. Check the installed CCU software
When the CID screen does not move from step5 to step6 , the installed CCU software may broken.
Perform the Factory Reset.
Step1 : Push “Settings” icon.
Step2 : Push “General” tab.
Step3 : Push “Factory Data Reset” list item.
Step4 : Push “Yes”.
