Electric Pump Systems (from 14MY)
Beginning with the 2014 Forester XT, a new brake vacuum pump system was adopted to
compliment the Subaru Direct Injection system.
DIT Vacuum Pump System
The vacuum pump is connected to the brake booster by a hose that is connected in parallel
with the hose from the intake manifold. A check valve is installed inside the intake manifold
hose and at the vacuum pump, to close the intake manifold off from the brake booster when the
intake manifold pressure is positive.
