This document provides assembly instructions and care guidelines for a 12x20 wood gazebo.
Function Description:
This product is a 12x20 wood gazebo designed for domestic outdoor use. Its primary function is for decorative purposes and to provide sunshade. It is not designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, including high winds, heavy rain, or snow. The gazebo is intended to be anchored to the ground for added safety and stability, preferably on a wooden deck or concrete surface with a strong foundation.

Usage Features:
- Placement: Must be placed on flat, horizontal ground with at least 6 feet (1.8 meters) of clearance from any structures or obstructions. It should not be placed under electrical lines.
- Anchoring: The gazebo must be anchored to the ground for safety. It is recommended to build it on a wooden deck or concrete ground for stability, ensuring the foundation is strong. Appropriate floor plugs (not provided) are advised for anchoring.
- Assembly: Requires two or more people for safe installation, especially for larger components. A minimum of 5 people are recommended for assembly. It is crucial to read and understand the manual before assembly, ensure all parts are present, and follow each step carefully. Do not attempt assembly if parts are missing.
- Safety: Keep children and pets away during assembly. Wear protective gloves if necessary due to sharp edges on some parts. Use safety glasses during installation. Check for underground utilities before digging.
- Multiple Gazebos: If setting up more than one gazebo, maintain a minimum distance of 10 feet (3 meters) between them.
- Limitations: Not designed to withstand harsh weather. Do not light fires inside or near the product. Do not hang heavy weights on the roof frame or climb onto the roof.

Maintenance Features:
- Wood Care:
- Fading and Weathering: Wood is a natural product and will change over time, potentially fading in color due to sun exposure. Temperature fluctuations and humidity can cause expansion, contraction, warping, and cracking. Knots and small surface cracks are normal and do not affect structural strength.
- Keeping Dry: Prolonged moisture or extreme humidity (outside 35-65%) can harm wood, leading to cracking or splitting not covered by warranty. Prevent prolonged exposure to moisture.
- Cleaning: Frequent light cleaning is recommended. Dust regularly with a slightly damp soft cloth, wiping dry along the wood grain. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth with a gentle soap solution (¼ cup mild dishwashing liquid soap per 1 gallon of warm water), rinse with water, and dry immediately. Avoid bleach, acid, or other solvents on metal parts. Minor stains or scratches can be buffed with No.0000 steel wool, followed by applying good quality wood-care oil along the grain.
- Annual Sealing: Annually maintain wooden parts with a sealant or outdoor wax/oil to protect and enhance surfaces. Apply a good quality wood-care oil or water-based sealant twice yearly after cleaning. Recommended options include outdoor water-based sealant, linseed, teak, or tung oil. Test on a small section first.
- Steel Components: Steel components are treated with rust-inhibiting paint. Surface oxidation (rusting) can occur if protective coatings are scratched. This is not a defect covered by warranty. To minimize rust, handle the product carefully during assembly. Touch up any scratches immediately with rust-inhibiting paint. Surface rust can be removed with a light application of cooking oil. Prevent oxidation to avoid staining decks or patios.
- General Maintenance: Wipe off stains quickly with a damp cloth. Wash with mild soap and water, rinse, and dry completely if necessary. Periodically check and tighten all nuts and bolts. Repairs and part replacements should be done by a qualified technician.
- Storage: Retain original packaging for storing the gazebo.
Warranty:
Sunjoy Group offers a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty to the original purchaser, covering defects in workmanship and materials, provided the item was factory-sealed, maintained with care, and used for personal, residential purposes. The warranty does not cover commercial use, damage from acts of nature, vandalism, misuse, improper assembly, or corrosion/rusting of hardware. Proof of purchase is required. Replacement parts for current production items may be available at nominal cost for "open box," previously-returned, or "clearance" items, or for original purchasers outside the warranty period.
