Test the GFCI
ThereisaGFCI(GroundFaultCircuitInterrupter)insidethethermostat.It
isdesignedtohelpprotectpeoplefrompossibleelectricalshockiftheoor
warmingsystemhasbeendamaged.
TomakesuretheGFCIisoperating,testitafteritisinstalledandonceeach
month:
1.MakesurethethermostatisHEATING.Youmayneedtoincreasethe
setpointtemporarily.
2. PresstheGFCITestbuttononthesideofthethermostat.GFCI TRIP
shouldshowonthedisplayandaredlightwillshownexttotheGFCITest
button.Youshouldalsohearaclick,indicatingpowerhasbeenremoved
fromtheoorwarmingsystem.Ifanyoftheseindicatorsfail,turnoffthe
thermostatandreplaceit.Donotcontinuetouse.
3. ToresettheGFCI,slidetheOn/Offswitchoffandbackon.Ifthe
GFCIdoesnotreset,turnthethermostatoffandgotosection6
“Troubleshooting” forhelp.

WattsRadiant,Inc.warrantsthisthermostatcontrolandsensor(theproduct)
tobefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipforaperiodoftwo(2)
yearsfromthedateoforiginalpurchasefromauthorizeddealers.During
thisperiod,WattsRadiant,Inc.willreplacetheproductorrefundtheoriginal
costoftheproductatWattsRadiant’soption,withoutcharge,iftheproduct
isprovendefectiveinnormaluse.Pleasereturnthethermostattoyour
distributortobeginthewarrantyprocess.

Controlling the Temperature
Yourthermostathasseveralwaystocontrolyouroorwarmingsystem.It
isfactorysettooperateintheprogramscheduleselectedbutthiscanbe
overriddentomeetyourneeds.
Program Schedule
Thethermostatwilloperatenormallyintheprogramscheduleselected.
Whenheatiscalledfor,HEATINGwillshowonthedisplayand
fullpowerissuppliedtotheoorwarmingsystem.Thisalso
signalstoturnonanySunStatRelaysthatmaybeconnectedto

Hold a Selected Temperature
Youcanholdthecurrentsetpointtemperatureindenitely,
especiallyusefulwhenyouareonvacation.
1.PresstheHOLD/RETURNbuttonandholdfor1second.HOLDwillshowon
thedisplayandthesetpointtemperatureshownwillbemaintaineduntilyou
cancelthishold.
2. Tocancelthishold,presstheHOLD/RETURNbuttonandholdfor1second.

3. PressHold/Returnbrieyandthethermostatwillreturntothe

Setback
YoucanusetheSetbackbuttontooverridethecurrentsetpoint

1.PresstheSETBACKbuttonbriey.SETBACKwillshowonthedisplayand

2. ToholdthisSetbacktemperatureindenitely,presstheHOLD/RETURN
buttonandholdfor1second.Tocancelthishold,presstheHOLD/RETURN
buttonagainandholdfor1second.
3. TocancelthisSetbacktemperatureandreturntothenormalschedule
temperature,presstheSETBACKbuttonbriey.
To change the temperature stored in the SETBACK button:
1.PresstheSETBACKbuttonandholdfor1second.SETBACKwillshowon
thedisplayanditstemperatureshouldbeblinking.
2. Pressthedownorupbuttontoadjustthetemperature.
3. PresstheHOLD/RETURNbuttonorwait5secondsandthethermostatwill
returntothenormaloperatingmode,savingyouradjustment.
Remote Control Override
IfyourthermostatwasinstalledwithRemoteControlinputfromahome
automationsystem(seesection2 “Installation”),thiswilloverridethe
thermostatwhentheremotecontrolsystemclosesitsoutputswitchorrelay.
SETBACKandHOLDwillshowonthedisplayanditwilloperateintheSetback
temperatureindenitely.Tocancelthis,theRemoteControlswitchorrelay
mustbeopened.

Air Sensing and Regulator Modes
Yourthermostatisfactorysettooperatebasedontheoorsensor
temperature.Thisistherecommendedmethodtoproperlycontrolyouroor
warmingsystem.
However,itisalsopossibletoalsooperateyourthermostatineithertheair
sensingmodeorregulatormodetemporarilyiftheoorsensorwasdamaged
ornotinstalled.Anewoorsensorshouldbeinstalledtoenableoperation
inFloorSenseModeassoonaspossible.Thesemodesmustbeusedwith
cautiontoavoidoverheatingtheoor.
•AirSensingMode–Thismodeoperatesbyanairsensorinsidethe
thermostat.Ifyouroorsensorisconnected,youmustsetaFloorLimit
temperaturetoavoidoverheatingtheoorcoverings(seeFloor Limit
below).Note:the internal heating in the thermostat may affect the sensor
temperature.
•RegulatorMode–Inthismodetheuserselectstheamountoftimethe
oorwarmingsystemheatsduringa15-minuterepeatingcycle.Thereisno
temperaturesensinginthismode.(seesection5 “Operation”)
Ifyouwantittooperateintheairsensingmodeorregulatormode,youmay
changethisasfollows:
1.PresstheOPTIONSbuttonandholdfor1second.

Floor Limit
IfyousetyourthermostattooperateinAirSenseMode,thedisplaywillshow

Toavoidpossiblyoverheatingyouroor,youmustsetaFloorLimittemperature
soitturnsoffthesystemiftheoorsensortemperatureexceedsthisFloor
Limit.Somewoodandlaminateoormanufacturersrecommendamaximum
of82to84°F(27°to28°C).Checkwithmanufacturer.Itisfactorysetto99F
(37C)andcanbeadjustedasfollows:
1.PresstheOPTIONSbuttonandholdfor1second.
2.PresstheOPTIONSbuttonagainuntilSET TEMPandFLOOR
LIMITshowsonthedisplaywiththecurrentFloorLimittemperature.
3.Pressthedownorupbuttontoadjustthis.

mode.
Calibration
Yourthermostatallowstheabilitytoslightlyadjustthedisplaytemperature.
Normallythisisnotrecommendednorrequired.However,inspecial
