DIFFERENTIAL LOCK
DIFFERENTIAL LOCK: Engine
power is supplied to the front and rear
wheels. Since the front differential
gear is locked, all wheels will always
turn at the same speed. Use this posi-
tion if the 4WD position does not pro-
vide enough traction to prevent the
vehicle from getting stuck.
NOTE: The selection lever can only
be shifted into the DIFFERENTIAL
LOCK position if the switch is in the
4WD position.
NOTE:
• When the switch is set to “DIFF
LOCK”, the differential gear lock
indicator will blink until the differ-
ential gear is locked.
• When the differential gear lock
indicator is blinking, turn the han-
dlebars back and forth to help the
differential gear lock to engage.
• The engine speed will be limited
when the differential gear lock
indicator is blinking.
• The vehicle speed will be limited
approximately 35 km/h (22 mph)
when the selection switch is in dif-
ferential lock position.
WARNING
Operating the vehicle at high
speeds in DIFFERENTIAL LOCK
can be hazardous.
When in DIFFERENTIAL LOCK,
both front wheels turn at the same
speed, making the vehicle harder
to steer. This lower maneuverabil-
ity could result in an accident.
Operate the vehicle at a slow,
steady speed when in DIFFEREN-
TIAL LOCK.
