Place your feet on the footrests. Plac-
ing a foot on the footrest board area
can interfere with rear brake pedal
operation and weight shifting.
After making sure that the engine is
warm, apply the rear brake and shift
into neutral.
While holding the front brake, move
the shift lever into the H (high) or L
(low) position. To start moving,
release the brake, then gradually
open the throttle. If you intend to shift
between the H (high) and L (low)
position, stop the vehicle completely
and close the throttle to bring the
engine to idling before shifting.
NOTE: Refer to the “SHIFT LEVER”
section in the CONTROLS, EQUIP-
MENT AND ADJUSTMENTS.
WARNING
Opening the throttle suddenly can
be hazardous.
The front wheels can lift off the
ground and cause loss of control
of the ATV.
Always open the throttle gradually
when you accelerate.
