Overview

This document describes the Swastik Automation & Control Presetable Counter, available in models STW-961C and STW-721C. This instruction manual provides details on the product's function, features, and proper usage.

Function Description

The Swastik Presetable Counter is designed to count external signals in an increment mode. Users can set a preset count value using thumbwheel switches. When the counter reaches this set value, a relay will activate. The device supports both UP and DOWN counting. It also features front and back reset functions, allowing for manual or automatic resetting of the count. The counter can be configured for different count ranges (3D, 4D, or 5D) and offers settings for relay time and overflow behavior.

Usage Features

Economical and Easy to Operate: The device is designed for ease of use with thumbwheel setting, making it straightforward to set preset counts.

Preset Count Setting: Users can easily set the desired preset count using the thumbwheel switches.

Counting Operation: The counter increases its count based on external signals. Once the set value is reached, the internal relay is activated.

Reset Modes:

  • Manual Reset Setting: To set manual reset mode, press the RST key for 5 seconds. The display will show "T-00.0". Use the thumbwheel to set the desired value (e.g., "000") and press RST to save. In this mode, the count will increase until the set value, and then continue increasing until a manual reset is performed.
  • Auto Reset Setting: To set auto reset mode, press the RST key for 5 seconds. After instrument power-on, the display will show "T-00.0". Use the thumbwheel to set the desired value (e.g., "000"). Then, the display will show "T-99.9", allowing you to set the relay time (e.g., "999"). Press RST to save. In this mode, the counter will automatically reset after reaching the preset value and activating the relay for the set duration.

Count Overflow Setting: This feature is only available in manual reset mode.

  • To access, first set manual mode. Then, press the RST key for 5 seconds. After instrument power-on, the display will show "PGM".
  • Press RST again, and the display will show "00-00".
  • Set "101" for "overflow no" (count will not increase after reading set value).
  • Set "102" for "overflow Yes" (count will increase after set value until manual reset).

Panel Instruction:

  • Display Window: Shows the current count.
  • LED Indication: Provides visual feedback.
  • "123" (Password): This is indicated as a password.
  • "RST" (Reset Key): Used for resetting the counter and for entering parameter settings (by pressing it during power-on).
  • Thumbwheel Switch: Used to set the UP counting value.

Wiring Diagram: Detailed wiring diagrams are provided for both STW-961C and STW-721C models, showing connections for supply (230VAC), input (PROX NPN/PNP), and relay outputs (NO, C, NC).

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions:

  • Electrical Safety: Do not touch AC power supply terminals after power-on. Confirm voltage conformity (AC 90-260V) before power-on to prevent damage.
  • Product Integrity: Do not remove, retrofit, or repair the product or contact any internal components.
  • Tightening Screws: Tighten screws with 0.74-0.90Nm torque; loose screws can cause fire.
  • Fuse Usage: Use appropriate fuses for power supply and input/output lines to prevent current impact.
  • Environmental Considerations: Do not use the instrument in environments with flammable, explosive gas, or discharge of steam.

Installation and Placement:

  • Heat Radiation: Leave space around the instrument and do not obstruct ventilation holes.
  • Interference: Maintain sufficient space between the instrument and equipment that generates high frequency and surge.

Cleaning:

  • Use standard-grade alcohol to clean the instrument. Do not use paint thinner or similar chemicals.

General Maintenance:

  • Connect wires correctly according to the wiring diagram.
  • Use the instrument under rated load and power supply.
  • Read and understand the instruction manual carefully before use.
  • Do not use the instrument if the front panel peels off or breaks.

Quality and Reliability:

  • The device boasts excellent quality, safety, and strong resistance to interference.
