Checking and Setting Refrigeration Valves
The C009 Non-Carbonated Beverage Dispenser is
equipped with a safety pump head lock. The
dispenser will not operate if the pump head is not
installed.
In order to check various pressures in the
refrigeration system, the dispenser must be
assembled and water must be hooked up at the rear
of the dispenser.
Gauges should NOT be installed on the dispenser
unless a refrigeration system problem is suspected.
If a refrigeration system problem has been
determined, perform the following procedure.
Step 1
Install the refrigeration gauges on the suction side of
the compressor and on the high side fitting located
behind the left side panel. (Note: Any side panel
removed during refrigeration pressure validation
must cover the opening above the condenser for an
accurate reading.)

Step 2
Press the Large and Extra Large buttons on either
side of the dispenser until the refrigeration system
goes to the chiller system. The low side of your
gauges should read 69 - 71 PSI (476 - 490 kPa)
when the main system is calling for refrigerant. This
setting is adjusted at the automatic expansion valve
(AXV). The high side pressure on air cooled
dispensers varies, depending on ambient
temperatures. The liquid line solenoid and the
suction solenoid should be energized.
Note: These pressure adjustments must be made
within 60 seconds. After 60 seconds elapses, the
refrigeration switches back to the cabinet.
DO NOT adjust the pressures while dispensing
water.
Step 3
While the cabinet is cooling, remove the gauges
from the fittings described in Step 2. Install the low
side refrigerant gauge line at the evaporator
pressure regulator (EPR) fitting located at the EPR
valve. Set the EPR valve at 59-61 PSI
(407-421 kPa). Only the cabinet liquid solenoid
should be energized.
Note: Close all service valves after setting the
valves.
